Egle Sanatorium in Birstonas

This review is based on a total four visits, with the last two the most prominent for the evaluation (Both of us are of silver client status). The procedures were usually suitable for the price and the medical staff was professional and friendly enough (at least if you have someone speaking Lithuanian with you). English works well with about half of the staff Russian with another half. You should not depend on German. The location next to the river is also quite nice and parking was usually no problem. A shop is a couple of minutes by foot, as are some restaurants.
What makes me give this negative rating is that, for the second time with about one year in between, the organization was among the worst I have ever experienced anywhere else. The other commenters' remarks regarding waiting times of more than one hour for rooms or even more than a day for procedure plans I can 100% approve. To make our arrival more efficient this time we decided to do the doctor appointment by phone before coming there. This had the advantage that we had a procedure plan ready when arriving. However, some procedures we could still not take because at 18 o'clock we still were not given a room to use or rather we were given a dirty, lived-in room. Thus, there was no way to change clothes before the procedure, leading to a necessary rebooking of the procedure with respective waiting times. In any other establishment this would have been grounds for an apology by management. However, this level of missing guest orientation they do not yet (or no longer) have achieved at Egle. Consequently, we are highly doubting of returning in the future, in particular, since there are several comparable alternatives next door.
The assessment of it being a Sanatorium rather than a spa, I would also second, however, I would add that it is communicated accordingly, at least in part.
Consequently, the rooms are mostly of decent quality and comparable to 2-3 star accommodation in a European comparison.

Horrible service overall. There are neverending queues where you wait with your number (which ends up incorrectly pressed), very slow and unapproachable services. If you want to change any of the treatment or inquire anything - just forget about it. It is either all booked or while you wait- it is already too late, service is ineffective, rules are not made friendly towards positive customer service. Overall very short, illogical in synchronicity and sequence treatments and as a sanatorium - would not call it a good sanatorium with its mentality. If you mix up some rooms or come in 5mins later- you will receive rude refusal with horrible comments and treatment will be cancelled. Also, in comparison with other SPA places for example in Chechia or even Italy - here it is very expensive, inflexible and room service is below average. Some staff are OK but as they are overbooked, service is not at its capacity as it should be and previously arranged rooms were not available without any warning. To get to your room it takes and elevators are badly functioning, they are also too slow, too few. I am here for the third tine, unfortunately this time I decided to write this review as I am not coming back. Also, the system has never saved my previous treatment plans, every time need to meet with different doctors, make new treatment plans hence ineffective sanatorium progress, always beginning from the same point and doctors are impossible to reach after this first “10min” meetup.

I wanted to cancel my reservation the minute I came in to check in. The Soviet style receptionist didn’t greet us, was rude with a smug face for no reason, refused to answer questions and help to fill out a 3 question survey. After complaining to the manager, we were accused of being problematic customers. Very unprofessional. The staff at the spa reception, spa and restaurant was very friendly, but the mood was ruined at the check in and I was ready to turn around and rebook someplace else.

Just horible! Checkin takes longer than 3h!!! Everything else makes no sense when you start in the manner like that.

Review: Widespread Mistreatment and Unprofessional Conduct at Medical SPA Eglės Sanatorija Birštonas – Elderly Guests Ignored, Staff Uncaring (July 25th) I’m writing this review after witnessing a truly upsetting experience at Medical SPA Eglės Sanatorija Birštonas on July 25th, where my elderly parents — and many others — were subjected to chaotic, disorganized, and deeply disrespectful treatment by the registration staff. My parents, both elderly and in need of clarity and care, were repeatedly sent back and forth between the registration desk and the doctor’s office without receiving any clear guidance. They were left confused, stressed, and completely unsupported. When they tried to request help or speak with a director about the situation, they were flatly denied. The registration administrator was especially rude and dismissive. She showed no patience, no empathy, and treated their reasonable questions with visible irritation. It is still unclear whether this was discrimination based on age, nationality, or simply a lack of professionalism — but the result was unacceptable. What made the situation even more troubling was that other people in line were visibly frustrated as well. We heard multiple guests complaining about how they were being treated, how disorganized everything was, and how no one seemed to care. This is not just about one bad interaction — it reflects a deeper issue in how this facility manages and trains its front-line staff. This is supposed to be a medical spa — a place of healing, care, and wellness. Instead, the experience felt bureaucratic, hostile, and emotionally draining for everyone involved. I strongly urge the management at Eglės Sanatorija Birštonas to take this seriously. Review your procedures, retrain your staff, and create systems that ensure respectful treatment of all guests — especially elderly ones. No one should ever leave a wellness center feeling worse than when they arrived. Until clear improvements are made, I cannot recommend this facility to anyone, particularly those traveling with or seeking care for older family members.

This place turned to be so horrible, it took us 2 hours to check in, rude Renata did not bother herself to help us, asked for more money to ensure my mom who is pensionist and came to cure her back does not sleep on the sofa. We missed a lunch that day. Simona on the reception couldn't place the treatments on time and started to shout at us

For all this we pay almost 500 eur a night, price range of top spas around the Europe

Horrible calls center work. I did rezervation, when the date came they lost it. So i had to do all ower again, going to doctor including. Now I can not remeber if i have to come tommorow or day after tommorow and nobody is picking up the phone. So far I have spend an hour on line calling them 5 times. And nothing. Could be i will loose my appointment again,because of theyr bad job.

We booked a stay at this SPA facility and wanted to spend a nice time here with my wife in autumn. I also have to say that we really enjoy being here and this time everything seemed to be going well, except for the night of the 9th day, we were told that a lot of people would be arriving from our beloved country that night and that The plane is delayed, hence the night action. What we didn't know was that they were military men, 90 people. and they are very loud and in a civilian facility. You can't imagine that all hell is going on here.
