This is our 2nd stay at Amilla over a year (1st stay Nov '24). Each time has left us blown away, and each time, we have our host Hajar to thank. Rooms: We stayed in the Beach Pool Villa both times. It was kept impeccably clean, a huge thank you to Shahadat for all of his work in doing so, as well as the rest of the housekeeping team. The rooms are far more spacious than might be anticipated from photographs alone, especially the bathroom and outdoor areas. They are well stocked, and we were particularly impressed by the quality of Amilla's own brand bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. The pool is huge, a lovely depth and regularly cleaned. The views are immaculate. Sometimes mosquitoes were an issue but the housekeeping team was quick to ensure adequate supplies of repellent/coils, and even re-sprays of insecticide when necessary. House Reef: The house reef is stunning, with a huge variety of fish and other fauna. We went snorkelling as often as possible, and have completed 2 dives off the house reef across 2 trips. We've seen a turtle, eagle rays, large schools of fish - it's a wonder and destination in and of itself. A huge thank you to the on-site marine biologist Rafa who gave us such lovely educational presentations and guided snorkel tours. Sometimes the current was too strong to comfortably snorkel but this was short-lived and we were lucky to have pretty good weather in the rainy season. The Island: As a natural island, Amilla is so full of life. The complimentary bicycles meant that it was easy to explore and feel at home amongst the trees and birdsong. A shout out to Hajar for personally ensuring correct seat height for my bicycle (she can do it all!). Food: Amilla is unique for its wide dietary accommodations. For a vegan-leaning vegetarian and one of us on a newly lactose-free diet, it was sometimes easier than eating out in London. Also, their (unlimited) homemade ice cream was to die for - especially the coconut ice cream (with real pieces of coconut..). Also do not miss out on the pizza - thank you Chef for treating us to that delicious garlic rosemary bread that we still talk about! Birthday Surprise(s): We each celebrated our respective birthdays on our two trips, and each time were blown away by the care and attentiveness shown by the Amilla Team - almost certainly under Hajar's attentive eye and guidance! Hajar went out of her way to help organise a birthday surprise - including a special mango sago pudding treat - that will never be forgotten! Spa: Thanks a million times to Ratna at the spa for the lovely and gentle massages. She was very thorough to check in on my back pain. I completely nodded off. Our host: Hajar is an extraordinary host and genuinely lovely company. She accentuates the beauty of Amilla and has made our stays there exceptional each time. We cannot imagine Amilla without her! Thank you for your phenomenal hosting and care. Conclusion: Amilla offers a beautiful balance between luxury and comf

Food, staff and facilities are nice. The resort focus on sustainability that locally grown food are served, and the reef at its coast are beautiful. We met quite some sea turtles during the snorkelling organised by the Excursion centre. The nature immersion - signature couple experience is a must have item if you are planning to have a treatment at the Javvu Spa. Last but not least, the starry night in Maldives is stunning, and you may have chance to capture the milky way in Amilla, try your luck when you visit.

This is one of the best travel experiences! Amira Island's ecology and activities are rich, we can dive near our Villa, see quite a lot of fish, and the staff also wanted to be enthusiastic and give us a great holiday experience Special thanks to Nappe, arranged well, Amira is a great place, and we'll return next time.

We really enjoyed our time on Amilla where wespent the first four days in a Sunset Villa and the last four in a Beach Villa. The villas are impressively large and very tastefully furnished. Exploring the island by bike, snorkelling in the Indian Ocean full of tropical fish and the delicious food - all this combined with our beautiful villa overlooking the ocean, the extremely friendly staff and our daily game of tennis in tropical surroundings made this holiday unforgettable. A big thank you to Buddy, Dudu, Mani, Faalih, Newi, Yasuda, Vlad and Shahid and all the others whose names we have unfortunately not memorised! You will remain in our memories and hearts for a long time to come and we hope to see you again next year!

Amilla is the kind of place you can’t stop thinking about after you leave—the kind you count down the days to return to. And after traveling more than 24 hours to get there, I can say without hesitation: it was worth it in every way. I’d been following Amilla for years, ever since it was recognized as one of the most wheelchair-friendly resorts in the Maldives—perhaps the most. That alone made it feel like the Maldives might still be possible for me. I always wanted to try Amilla. When the opportunity came up to visit solo before a conference, I took it. It ended up being one of the best decisions of my life. Everything about the experience was exceptional. Even before I arrived, the communication with the resort was warm, thoughtful, and detailed. When I landed in Malé, I was met by smiling staff holding a sign with my name. They helped me transfer to a luxury suite and prepped me for the next part of the journey: a seaplane transfer. Boarding a seaplane requires a little more effort when you use a wheelchair. But Amilla had a full team ready—trained, respectful, and prepared with a sling lift to make it safe and smooth. When we landed on a floating platform in the middle of the reef, about ten staff members, including a lifeguard in uniform, were there to ensure my safety. I was helped onto a boat, greeted with a golf cart with my name on it, handed a fancy coconut, and whisked off to my accessible overwater bungalow—complete with gentle ramps and a view that felt like magic. The next four days were pure perfection. Amilla offers a boat lift for scuba and snorkeling tours, so I was able to participate fully. I ate beautiful meals, took a cooking class, painted, relaxed, and had about 10,000 pinch-me moments. They assign each guest a butler—mine was Hajer (H-A-G-E-R), and she was incredible. She was at my side throughout my stay, helping coordinate everything from a three-hour spa treatment to meals in and out of my villa. There’s a lightness to Amilla that’s hard to describe. The staff-to-guest ratio is something like 5:1, but it never felt stuffy or overly formal. It was warm, friendly, and relaxed—nobody wore shoes, so I didn’t either. If you’re on the fence about going to the Maldives alone, especially in a wheelchair: go. If you love beauty, crave a bit of spacious solitude, and are up for a little adventure, it’s a perfect solo trip. I’m already counting the days until I can go back. Let me know

Love the team, Victoria and Jupiter namely. But some of the staff at the restaurant even remembered I liked sparkling water and I only stayed for 4 nights mid April.
Love the island. The view is good everywhere, even the gym. Its huge in comparison to some other resorts and you get to bike around, or you can request a buggy ride. Overall, very reasonable price, stayed HB and already gained weight, cannot imagine FB. Villa is HUGE, AC was always cold, always kept clean, always had clean towels, and they provide bug repellent, do use it. The deck was lovely and had a sun umbrella, I miss sunbathing there with an ice coffee. I did scratch my toes going for a dip during low tide cause I was too lazy to wear my water shoes. The gym was big, had clean cold towels and drinks and equipment was new. I don't know what more to ask for. Maybe more fish? but you can go on those snorkeling excursions, we went on the dolphin excursion and saw both spinner and bottlehead dolphins. They have a blue hole nearby, do learn to free dive before attempting to enter, I regret not learning to free dive properly cause it's not something you can learn quickly, no one but the guide in our group could get in.

Just book Amilla. I did island hop to another resort, and I was disappointed in everything but their coral reef. Do your research but I'm pretty sure the other resort's service cannot beat Amilla.
They are worth every penny.
