I was looking for a place to stay and came across Dodola Lodge. I made my booking around 6:00 PM and informed the receptionist that I would be checking in late, around 9:00 PM. They were fully aware of my late arrival.
However, I was charged the full amount, even though I booked well after the official check-in time of 2:00 PM. I also found it disappointing that I was strictly required to check out at 12:00 noon the next day.
The air conditioning in the room was not working properly — no cold air was coming out at all. On top of that, the room was very dusty everywhere, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. The bedsheets also have a weird smell.
During check-out, the receptionist (a young lady with short hair cut) was very rude. She did not greet us or say good morning. She immediately pointed out that check-out was at noon, even though we were only 10 minutes late.
Overall, the experience was disappointing and did not meet my expectations.

My wife and I stayed at Dodola Lodge (Pereybere) Apartments for two weeks in January, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The apartment itself is excellent - very comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a longer stay. It has a cozy double bed, two air conditioning units, a fan, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and a lovely terrace where we enjoyed relaxing mornings and evenings. The location is perfect. Just across the street is Pereybere Beach, a small but incredibly beautiful beach - easily one of the nicest on the island. There are also several great restaurants and cafés within easy walking distance, making the area very convenient and pleasant. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, were the people. The owner, Dany, the manager, Anish, and the cleaning lady, Poonam, were all incredibly attentive, welcoming, and caring. Their hospitality went far beyond what we expected. When our suitcases were delayed, Dany personally helped us communicate with the airport and arranged the delivery of our luggage - something we deeply appreciated. Anish was always immediately available whenever we needed assistance, and Poonam was very kind, communicative, and did an excellent job keeping the apartment spotless. Thanks to them, our stay felt not just comfortable, but genuinely special. Dodola Lodge (Pereybere) Apartments have been a real blessing for us. We strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting Mauritius, and we will most definitely return. Thank you very much for everything!

Great location near the beach, walkable to restaurants and grocery store. Shout out to front desk girl Kim for helping my cousin and I change flights after our flight was cancelled last minute! She was a big help! 🙏🏻

Perfect location near the beach and clean room. Our flight got cancelled while we were staying here and Kim at the front desk was so helpful in contacting the airline for us and helping us to rebook our flights.
Parking is easy. The only expected thing is the door to the bathroom is clear glass; a pull down shade can be used for more privacy but it still caught us off guard.
Cute patio area and there is also a guard at nighttime which made us feel safe!

I hate to leave negative reviews. I’m a business owner myself and understand how challenging things can be in this economy. But this stay left me genuinely disappointed.
We were really looking forward to our time here because the hotel has a lot of potential. The hotel itself is cute and cozy. The property is ideally located right across from the beach, which is fantastic. The rooms have a lot of natural light and a big bay window with a nice balcony.
Unfortunately, the moment we arrived, the girl at the front desk acted as if we were a bother rather than guests, giving us a cold, dismissive welcome. This seems to be a recurring pattern from what I see in other reviews. My partner and I were left scratching our heads as to what happened. First impressions matter, and this one just felt weird. I know this isn’t a five star resort but still, there’s a minimum…
The room: the ceiling fan didn’t work, the safe was out of order, the AC didn’t blow cool air, and the stairway leading to the rooms was poorly lit. Humans are relational creatures, and personally I can overlook minor maintenance issues if the staff treats you decently, not like you’re another sucker walking in. And I say this with sadness because Mauritius relies heavily on tourism. A simple friendly greeting and genuine care would elevate this hotel tremendously, even without luxury amenities. For this reason alone, I would not recommend this hotel to friends, family, or colleagues.

The lodge itself has a really cozy and peaceful vibe, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, my overall experience was let down by a few key issues.
First, the staff(girl with a bob haircut) attitude left much to be desired, not very friendly or helpful. I didn’t feel particularly welcomed, which was disappointing. On top of that, the cleanliness of the room wasn’t great. The bed sheets didn’t look or feel clean, and the air in the room was really dusty. My fiancé and i actually had trouble sleeping because of it. With some improvements, it could be a fantastic place to stay, but as of now, I’d hesitate to return.

Absolutely loved it here. It's right across the beach making it really worth it. Our villa had 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom (comes with a washing machine), a full kitchen and lounge as well as a balcony. There was also regular cleaning and our host made sure we were fully catered for. It's also close to shops and restaurants. Would recommend for those having an extended stay and would like a place that feels like home.

The (very) big plus for Jag's Villa is the location - 5 min. drive to the airport. Otherwise the rooms are standard, clean and without any deficiencies. The property is fenced/gated. The housekeepers are very friendly and accommodating.

After doing lots of research about where to stay in Mauritius we choose Perebeye and the Dodola Lodge. The room was perfect. We choose one with a kitchenette. There was a drying rack on the patio although the cloths dried best in the room as it was humid outside. They have a shared kitchen with a fridge and cooking area if you didn’t go the kitchenette route but to have everything you need in the room was amazing, glassware, plates, utensils, mugs, kettle, fridge, hand towel, cutting board, microwave and counter space. They even provide a sponge and liquid soap. The only thing missing was an ice cube tray. We improvised and made ice using small paper cups and at one point even aluminum muffin tins. The hotel provides soap but no shampoo or conditioner. The shower has plenty of hot water and the aircon works great. Beach towels are available at 50MR each and you can keep them as long as you like. There is a safe in the room as well as black out curtains. Since the hotel is on a side street it is extremely quiet in terms of traffic noise and the sliding glass doors to the patio are great too as our neighbors were on a different schedule than us. Mitch at the front desk was super helpful in arranging anything we might need. The grocery store is less than a 5 minute walk away and has everything you could want. The fresh baked baguette ( 9MR ) was a staple for sure. A 6 pack of phoenix beer about 375 MR. The location was great, 2 min walk to an ATM, fried chicken, pizza, crepes, 3 min walk to the bus and an amazing food truck at the beach, 4 min walk to the taxi stand, 4 or 5 restaurants and then the super market. The beach is great, crowded with locals enjoying, picnicking, a pentanque court and playing music. The sun sets right into the ocean – the view is incredible. The bus to Grand Baie takes 5 minutes and is 24 MR. In terms of exercise by walking there are no side walks and the cars go whizzing by, if you bring water shoes you can start on the beach and continue to the right and walk all the way to another long stretch of beach.

Fantastic location right on the beach. Service was great to start, the waiter moved chairs to the best location. Then it got slow as they seemed preoccupied and we had to go to the bar and order more drinks.
