I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The “superior room” we booked for 130 € per night was nothing like what was advertised. The room was extremely small, dark, wet, musty and smelled bad. There were no windows at all, and the so-called “balcony” faced directly into a wall. Only a tiny gap allowed any light in; otherwise the entire balcony area was completely closed off and covered, making the space feel even more suffocating.
When we asked for a different room—since we had specifically paid for a superior category—the reception staff didn’t even seem to know what a “superior room” was. After seeing the conditions, we stayed no more than 10 minutes before deciding to book a different hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel has refused to refund our money.
Based on this experience, I strongly do not recommend this hotel, at least not the room on the ground floor next to the spa.

Reaction to the hotel’s response: I’d like to clarify a few points. My partner was actually the one who immediately started searching for new accommodation as soon as we saw the room — we both agreed right away that it wasn’t suitable for us.
Regarding the cake comparison: in this case, I did “taste” it — and I didn’t like it. That’s exactly why I chose not to “eat” it. The moment we entered, I told you clearly that the room was dark and had an unpleasant smell. These are things I couldn’t have known from the photos or the listing when I made the booking.
Since we didn’t stay and didn’t receive any service from you, I asked for a refund, but unfortunately nothing was provided.

A very pleasant small hotel. Simple and friendly with very good food. Ask for a room facing the courtyard as the ones to the side face another building so the balcony view is restricted and a bit gloomy. A reasonable command of French is useful but Franc and the staff are very helpful and will book any sort of trip for you and ensure that you have a good experience and don't get 'ripped-off'. Walking into Grand Baie is possible but there is no pavement, however the buses are very frequent and cheap and a good way to experience some local culture. Loads of taxis too. Good beaches nearby.

This is a really good place. Off the centre but close enough if you want the pulse. The hosts are great, and the service is untouchable. It is clean and the place is really cosy. Not to mention the pool area and the restaurant. They serve the amazing breakfast and options for dinner. Would love to stay next time coming here!

Jean Pierre he was very attentive to us as if we were personal friends. His staff were all very attentive polite and eager to please.
We had a lovely relaxing vacation in Grand Bai thanks to their personal touch.

I can say nothing but praises for this apartment and all people involved!
We did some last minute booking in September 25. Jean-Pierre and his team gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. We had dinner the first night, the Butter Chicken was really good, but the homemade french fries were amazing! Also really good price for everything.
The breakfast was also really good too, and plenty of different choices, but I have to call out the banana bread: it is the best one I ever had, I mostly ate only that.
At the place my wife and I booked a 90 minutes massage with Élodie each, which was really good and relaxing with an amazing price. Gael made the final day perfect by showing us the area a bit.
Everyone was so nice and friendly, the whole staff is amazing. What I personally also preffered was that even though it is in Grand Baie, it is a bit outside of the main tourist area, and thus a quiet area.
I can only recommend to stay here if you can!

Stay far away from this scam! This place is a disgrace. The location is terrible—you either need a car or be stuck waiting for a bus just to reach the nearest beach. The rooms are filthy, moldy, and completely empty—nothing like what’s advertised. There was mold everywhere, a horrible stench, and absolutely no ventilation—it felt like suffocating in a damp, dirty box. They claim the rooms have a terrace, but that’s a blatant lie. There are no basic amenities, making the stay unbearable. The so-called “bathroom” is just an open space next to the bed, so when you shower, everything gets soaked.

The owners are rude, unhelpful, and outright scammers. They refuse to provide even basic service, and the items they list on Booking.com DO NOT EXIST in the actual room. This was hands down one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy being deceived and trapped in a filthy, airless room!

This is a scam. We booked the room for 14 days. When we arrived there, we were shocked. The room was small, dirty, didn't have a basic nesesseties as a hairdryer, kettle, cups, glass, no bed tables, in one word the room was empty. There was a bathroom in the same space as bedroom, so while you shower the whole place is wet, because the shower doesn't have a door. There supposed to be a terrace , ok a small space surrounded by a wooden fance. You could berrely turn. In all the room there was one broken plastic chair. The fridge was filthy and rusty, bljak. The aircone didn't work properly, so in the room was like a sauna. Unposibble to sleep. The owners were unpolite and very rude and ignorent. The staff can't speak English. All the pictures they post on booking Com or trip adviser don't reflect the actual situation. I left the permises after one horrible night. And when I filled my complaint about whole situation the owner yelled at me, and berrely kicked me out. So in one word STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLOUSTROPHOBIC FILTHY PLACE.

We recently had an amazing trip to Mauritius with my friends, we stayed in this cozy and homely guest house, Sous Le Badamier, the owners John Pierre and Sarah are very nice people with a very gentle character of hospitality. During our stay, we were extremely moved by the kindness and warmth of all the staff working in Sous Le Badamier. Excellent experience! Courteous staff who really looked after us especially the kind lady, unfortunately I forgot her name, she is very helpful and kind always assisting/serving us with our breakfast. And yeah of course, how can I forget Jessen! the attendant in the guest house, very helpful, prompt, smart, caring, and knowledgeable about the food, he just had this friendly demeanor about him that made us all happy, absolutely the best waiter we've ever had in Mauritius! We had a wonderful time during our stay in the guest house! highly recommended!
