Visited this hotel on a business trip. It’s a rustic property with very basic amenities, far from the comfort you’d expect in a decent hotel. My room was cold with no heater provided, and there were no amenities such as a coffee machine. The bed was cramped against the table and at one point I almost hurt my knee trying to move around. Friendly staff at the Weinerhoff hotel and location is great for town centre (shops / restaurants) and train station but really over priced for what I’d call a very low 3 star hotel. Food is also below average unfortunately and breakfast not the best. Bottomless coffee is a bonus as there are some lovely areas inside to sit

My family and I have stayed at this hotel many times when visiting family in Den Helder over the years. We've managed to get a seaview room every time and love standing out on the balcony enjoying the breezes and the Texel ferry boats going back and forth. Service always good. Breakfast and restaurant are good. Only minor deal I have is lack of conveniently located plugs in the room to charge phones...

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times, but after a break of a couple of years I was a bit disappointed this time. The hotel feels tired now, and it’s clear that no renovation has been done in quite a while. Breakfast was the main downside. Stayed one night on Thu 8th May 2025 as needed to be on early ferry to Texel on the Friday morning. A superb hotel, nice interior, and great sea views. The breakfast is good, at first looks like not much on offer, but there is a decent amount.

Spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel. Had a seaview room with balcony and it was great.The view across to Texel was amazing. The staff at the hotel were excellent and made us very welcome. Hope to visit Den Helder again - its a very interesting place and we would stay at Lands End again .

This hotel is a hidden gem in Den Helder, and would highly recommend, the staff at the hotel are the warmest & friendliest I have been welcomed by. The hotel let me use the facilities 4 hours early before my check in, and kept me topped up with Tea until my room was available.

The hotel is lovely and clean with friendly staff. Location is super to visit Texel or to stroll around in the area. Good hotel with a bit small rooms but it was good enough for us. The breakfast was nice, they made fresh eggs and there were enough options. The hotel has an ideal location in the centre of Den Helder and most activities can easily be reached by walking or by bike.

The hotel is very centrally located and whilst being a little simple has very friendly and helpful staff. Large toom with comfy chairs. Bath and separate shower in the room. Breakfast was excellent. Railways station is only a couple of minutes away.

I stay in hotels a fair bit and there are a expensive ones, posh ones, average ones and terrible ones but you go a long way to find a group of staff who are as friendly and pleasant as those in the Forest Hotel. The hotel is stroll across from the train station and close to restaurants and bars. The rooms are clean, simple but all that you need. I will definitely return when working in Den Helder.

A great week long stay at this hotel which is conveniently situated in the centre of Den Helder. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a great breakfast included. What makes it a greater is the ladies who run the hotel who make you fee super welcome, nothing was too much and they should be commended for their customer service. Highly recommended.

The hotel looks lovely, but the apartment, though large and roomy, are not what you would expect from a hotel. No towels, no dish soap or cleaning supplies, no bathroom amenities. The beds were unmade and we had enough sheets to make up exactly 1 bed out of 4. Texel is amazing! Next time we will stay elsewhere.

Correct for the price. This hotel is having reasonable prices. Well located in the middle of the island. You can rent a bike and you will close to best places in Texel. Appartment have good equipment if you want to cook during your holidays. The biggest problem is quality of beds.

We were on Texel for bird watching, the hotel's location is suitable for nearby trips. I appreciated the very pleasant and friendly atmosphere of the hotel, quiet accommodation, very tasty evening menu. The advantage is the possibility of refreshments during the day, there was no problem with a gluten-free diet. There is also a large parking lot available.

We came with Dutch friends who had stayed before. Very lovely, helpful attentive staff. Dinners were interesting, beautifully cooked, and presented. Breakfast was a fantastic spread of everything. Spacious room, very comfortable bed. We used the cycle hire. We sat in the sun overlooking the pond. It's totally relaxing and highly recommended. Awarded 5 stars bu us.

What a great place to stay. Not far from a nice center 15, mins walk. The beach 30 mins . The garden is a place to sit and watch the birds on the lake and wake up to there calls.

Enjoyed a few days on Texel in a wonderful location. We stayed in De Koog and had a wonderful night's sleep in a very nice and renovated hotel with friendly staff. Highly recommended for the many visitors to the beautiful island of Texel.

A great hotel with almost all friendly employees! The room with balcony we had was spacious, clean and complete. A nice lounge, a good restaurant and beautifully situated on the edge of De Koog. It's a bit of a shame that the balcony room we had has a "view" of the other wing and that the restaurant only works with set menus. Apart from that: highly recommended!

Ever been to a hotel where the web site totally oversells it? Less common is the opposite and that would be the Hotel Opduin. When I booked it, looking at the website I presumed a charming (and perhaps slightly run down) hotel nestling near the dunes. The hotel is adequate for a short trip. Everything you need is there, except for a hairdryer (!), which you should take with you. The furnishings have a few flaws everywhere and of course the room facing the bar is very noisy until late in the evening. But it's OK for a few days.

The room is big enough, the island is very quiet, the scenery is beautiful, and the old lady at the front desk is also very nice. It's really nice to take a bike ride, with 360-degree views. Come here if you want to get drunk on oxygen.

A quiet hotel on the main street. My room was very comfortable with super views over the river. Breakfast was better than average with hot and cold choices and despite some issues with the coffee machine on the first day, all in all very nice. The garden, which abuts the river is a lovely place to relax.

Wonderful hotel and most kind staff!

The expectation of this kind of hotel is that it is personal and friendly. That was most definitely the case. Also on my first morning, I had an early round of golf and normally breakfast is served later. But the staff was so kind to serve breakfast a bit earlier so I could have breakfast before my round.

The single room is really small. I stayed Mo to Fr and there was not much space for my stuff. I guess for 1 night it is ok, if you plan to stay longer chose a bigger room!

the hotel is perfect for dog owners, quiet and peaceful. employees are very friendly, if there are parking spots outside, but theres a sign on it, don’t hestitate to walk in and ask if you could park your car out front.

The hotel is really recommended for dog owners. We stayed in a very clean bungalow, which was very quiet and relatively spacious. The selection at the breakfast buffet is good. The staff was very helpful and friendly to the guests. If you are willing to walk 500 meters, there is free parking. The way to the beach by car takes 10 minutes.

Good hotel, we went there with a dog. It’s great to have a door straight to a little courtyard, in order to give your dog some space to play. Parking is a bit tricky, but you can park for free within 10 minutes walk. Or buy a card with the hotel so you can park within the vicinity of the hotel, about 2 minutes walk. We had a great weekend with the extended family(34 people) at Huize Glory. Everything was arranged very well, with a good breakfast and a staf who are friendly and flexible. The place is ideally suited near the sea, it brings back memories of times long gone. Definitely recommended.

The location is super. The staff is very friendly. The building has lots of character but needs more TLC. The view of the sea from our room and the breakfast area is very nice. Temperature control in the room is a bit complex, through radiator valves. There are infrared panels but not sure how to control those. All in all a 3.5 out of 5 experience.

The hotel room was fine. The bed was just awful! If you coughed, your partner would be shaking in bed. Very unstable. Perhaps blind the bathroom door; if you go to the bathroom at night and turn on the light, the whole bedroom is illuminated. Breakfast was fine; perhaps put trash cans on the tables. Otherwise, everything was fine, and we enjoyed Alkmaar.

Very central accommodation, ideal for exploring the city. The central common area is very pleasant.

It was a very cute space that was perfectly suited to the town of Alkmaar. The room had fluffy mattresses and a clean bathroom. It's a shame that there were no charging outlets on the top bunk of the bunk bed, but I was able to sleep well. The town is very lively yet traditional, and the food was delicious.

Ideal hotel if you need to be at the AFAS stadium. Great hotel room, but missed a balcony. Unfortunately, dinner could not be taken in the hotel yet. This will open soon. Breakfast and bar are. But you can eat in the all you can eat restaurant which is next to the hotel.

The hotel is located right by the coast, and there is parking in front of the hotel. Parking is free from 7 PM to 10 AM. The breakfast was varied and delicious. We had 5 great days at the Hotel Neptunus. Room and bathroom were very clean and tidy. The beds were made every day. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel is a bit out of the way, about 5 minutes on foot, from the center, but it is quiet there. We will visit the hotel again. Many thanks to the team at Hotel Neptunus.

Friendly welcome. The room was modernly furnished and clean. The only complaints are the loose floor panels and the somewhat outdated chairs on the balcony.
