Stayokay Noordwijk - Hostel in Noordwijk aan Zee

This is a nice hostel but I've only given three stars because of there being NO hot water on the night we stayed. After a day in the saddle we were looking forward to a hot shower.
It also felt a bit end of season with a huge youth group staying which seemed to have impacted there being no hot meal option on offer.
The breakfast the following morning was however excellent and the staff friendly and helpful - they were apologetic about the lack of hot water which was owing to a fault on the boiler - an engineer was going to attend that day.

Traveling with two kids, we enjoyed the great breakfasts (various fresh food and vegetarian options), the kind staff, and the commun areas, especially the playground outside. Our 4-person standard room, however, felt smaller than similar rooms we’ve stayed in at other Stayokay locations. It could use some maintenance (the sink was clogged, hooks were missing) and wasn’t very practical for families with children. For example, there were limited places to hang wet items to dry— important in Dutch weather and at the beach—and the motion-activated lights in the toilet and shower (that catched motion in the hall!), along with the press-and-release shower that stopped every minute, made things less convenient.
I’d recommend this location to explore the region only if you have a car, as public transportation is limited (small bus once per hour and not running after 6 p.m.).
