I loved this hotel. My husband was on a beekeeping training trip so I came along for the holiday. I had so much to do to entertain myself - swimming in the outdoor pool, then swimming in the wave pool indoors, then sauna and steam room. It may seem somewhat out of date but I stayed there in 1986! I can recognise the bar (it was called the Getwouwen Bar (the roped bar)) in those days. It was a great place to stay and I stayed there several times.

This is not a 4 star hotel. It is a three star at best. The rooms are basic and dated. Some rooms don't have a fridge, the TVs are tiny. The layout of the hotel makes getting to the far rooms like the scene from the movie "The Shining." Redrum. I stayed there for the MotoGP race weekend, and they basically tripled their rate and then cut the "all-inclusive" that is advertised all over the hotel...

Nice clean middle grade hotel, does what it stays , friendly helpful staff from ordering food to booking taxi .. our 3rd visit best place to stay for txt circuit, it’s within walking distance, entertainment available in wing of hotel at night ,

Value for money, but wouldn’t go again Niet duur, maar ook weinig sfeer. De wellness blijkt een kinderzwembad met wat sauna’s en het hotel had veel weg van een grootschalig ouderen verzorgingscentrum. Het nabij gelegen park is prachtig om te wandelen.

Room ok, cleaning not great, dirty glasses not replaced, bathroom not cleaned . Yea/coffee not replenished, had to ask If you are all inclusive great but if not staff not interested in serving you . Is like a uk holiday camp style great if you like that but not for us. Good location for Assen centre but is a good 25min walk . Not what I would expect as a 4* hotel

Hotel is expensive, they are now fully booked. Because they rent out the left wing which is full of immigrants. Unfortunately I am human also I don't want to see misery or scary people when I am on business travel or pleasure.

My best hotel experience in the past 12 months... This statement coming from a "Road Warrior"... Spotless property with fantastic dining options!

This is the place you want to stay! The room (416) was outstanding. Very clean, the lighting was exquisite and the 2 person jetted tub was heaven to soak in. I will stay here again. And the breakfast was AMAZING….

More than decent! First time staying at a Van der Valk and was pleasantly suprised. High standard, clean and well-apointed rooms (apart from glass bathroom door - no one ever liked that). Great pool and spa area, decent restaurant and scrumptious breakfast. Not last time with Van der Valk!

Friendly and very attentive service by both restaurant staff and especially check-in employee Amy who made our visit even more special. Thank you so much for the kind reception and service.

Nice, clean and affable staff. Nice stay. Confusing room layout, really easy to get lost trying to find the reception from ones room. Yes, there are enough signs to help you find your way once one gets the hang of it.

Excellent hotel with nice staff, quality interior and top-notch customer service. We had payment processing issues when first booking through a third party, but those have been resolved through a lightning quick phone call with a very understanding hotel member. Service outside was not on point the evening of the visit. With only a few seats occupied, it was difficult to get attention of the waiter.

A great place to stay if you have to be in Assen. It's in an almost perfect location in the city center. The room was spacious ,clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best I've had, and the restaurant was also excellent. If you arrive or depart on a Wednesday or Saturday, be aware that there is a wonderful local market in front of the hotel.on those days. If you need to take a taxi...

The price was okay, breakfast was included and had a wide variety for all appetites. The room was clean and smelt fresh, the sheets were clean and ironed, and the receptionists were very friendly and spoke English. Only letdown was there was some stains in the bathroom, but that did not affect the function and therefore I am giving this hotel a 5-star review.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast had a wide range of options and was beautifully presented. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are the most comfortable I've slept in for a long time. I can't think of any negative experiences about the hotel.

The room was Nice, big and lovely. The bed was perfect not to soft of to hard. Also the pillow’s where good. Braeakfast was perfect. And The staf very friemelt. I had a verry plessend stay

Excellent holiday site with lots of amenities swimming pool very good restaurant and bike hire. Also the staff are very very friendly and not do enough to help you.

It's really located in a forrest. The staff is very polite and friendly. The chalet is very nice. It's very clean and comfortable. The surroundings are nice and quiet. Renting a bike to see the area is s great experience. The TT Assen circuit is close by.

Location, quite central to most points of interest. Enough privacy. Cozy cottage, really complete and with plenty of storage space for such a little place.

Very nice camping and vacation park, accommodations in all levels. Public program mostly for younger kids.
