Stayed here in a private room for two nights and it’s very much worth staying here! By far one of the best hostels we’ve ever stayed in.

Even saw the northern lights from our room facing the lake on our first night.

The room itself is kinda on the medium size, had enough space for our luggages but was pretty tight. Not a big issue however.

Kitchen is good enough for us and well equipped. Like what other reviewers have mentioned, there’s indeed a closing time for the kitchen where you can’t access your stuff. I think it’s 10pm till next day 8am? To us it was fine, not an issue.

Nice to meet so many folks and had a good chat with them. We were very warmly welcomed by the staff - who we later learned to be volunteers who are mostly from the EU. Quite nice of them!

There was even some free campfire activity but we didn’t attend as we were too tired.

Though we did visit the lake the day after, very nice lake and even saw some swans!

Would definitely stay here again in our next trip to the Lofoten Islands. Good stop along the way.

Staying at FURU Hostel & Cafe was honestly a great experience. The place has a unique atmosphere — cozy, calm, and surrounded by incredible nature. You really feel the spirit of the Lofoten Islands here. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and everything was well maintained. What stood out the most was the overall vibe: relaxed, friendly, and authentic without trying too hard. The cafe is also a big plus — good food, simple but well done, and a perfect spot to unwind after a day outside. The team was welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. If you’re looking for a place that feels both local and special, this is definitely a solid choice. I’d come back without hesitation.

Amazing hostel, great location with stunning views of the mountains and lake. Very cozy and pretty spaces that felt very warm and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable, loved the little ledge for charging your phone etc and curtains are always nice. The people were awesome plus the friendly husky 😊 Very cheap for what you get. The bus stops right outside the hostel for very easy acces. Highly recommend

Very friendly crew. Great location, and I got excellent support for hikes, snowshoeing and surfing, as well as evening activities and a place at the fireplace. The location next to the lake is great, only regret not having used the sauna more often. Bring some food in winter (when the cafe is closed).

The environment was very warm and friendly! Enjoyed interacting with all the volunteers! Along with that, saw some incredible northern lights!

Its a home converted into a hostel. The ground floor still retains the living and sun rooms, which are tastefully done. The living room has a functional fireplace and each of the dorm rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable and enough restrooms on each floor.

The owner (Guri) and the volunteers (Nils, Marie, Jessi, Lupe, Louie) are amazing hosts and I felt like I was living at home.

The hostel is literally on the bus route and there's even a stop at the hostel. The hostel is by a serene lake and there's a small hut for campfires and chats!

Highly recommend this hostel for a base in Lofoten.
