Al Salam Desert Camp in Al Wasil

The desert scenery was stunning, and the service was excellent. Breakfast and dinner were both quite good, and there were lively activities after dinner, including stargazing later in the evening. The room conditions were much better than expected, making it a highly recommended stay.

The scenery is beautiful. The service is warm and patient. The food portions are generous and filling; the four of us ordered a double set meal and couldn't even finish it. The hotel has an amazing Bedouin driver who took us dune bashing, and his driving skills were like something out of a Hollywood movie – thrilling and exciting. At night, it's vast and dark, and you can see shooting stars.

WiFi is only available near the lounge and restaurant at the camp; most tents are too far from the lounge to connect. Food and drinks at the hotel can be paid for by card, but recreational activities are cash-only (you can also pay in USD or Euros).

Unfortunately, the water heater broke down at night, so there was no hot water, and there was also an electrical leak – touching the shower rod gave you a painful, tingling shock. We quickly moved to another tent.

A fantastic experience! We stayed here with our 3 children and from the minute we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. We were kindly upgraded to the deluxe tents which were extremely spacious and comfortable. We booked camel rides, quad biking and the sunrise dune bashing trip. All of them were exceptional. Zuher, our guide, was friendly, informative and really generous with his time. I would thoroughly recommend booking these activities, especially the dune bashing with Zuher. There was an excellent selection of food and I cannot fault anything. We will definitely be back next time we are in Oman.

I had amazing one night stay at the desert camp! The fantastic breakfast and dinner, along with the spacious clean room, made my visit memorable. The staff was super friendly, and the highlight was the breathtaking star watching experience. Highly Recommended.

Great Place, Warm Host, Excellent Food (One of the best I have ever had in Desert Camps), Great rooms. 100 value for money. Rooms were clean and everything was perfect. The 4WD ride was awesome, they have some good activities. the Music later in the day was beautiful.

Our night in the desert was absolutely beautiful. We were upgraded to a luxury room for the price of a standard one. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. As we were the only guests, everything was served directly to our table, though they normally offer a buffet.

We stayed there for 2 nights and absolutely loved every moment of it. The quality of the tents, the delicious food, and the outstanding hospitality made our stay very special. The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming. One of the highlights of our trip was enjoying Camel Riding with the Sunset, which was a magical and peaceful moment, witnessing the desert turn golden as the sun went down. The next morning, we went for an adventurous Dune Bashing with the Sunrise, and it was such a thrilling experience, feeling the cool desert breeze and watching the sun rise over the endless dunes. Everything about this camp was perfect for a honeymoon getaway. Both my wife and I created beautiful memories that we will cherish forever.I would highly recommend Al Salam Desert Camp to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable desert experience in Oman. And yes — we would love to visit again!

My partner and I had an amazing time at the camp! The best part was our desert tour with Said Al Malki.. He was so professional, he introducing us to local Bedouin and being generally great chat..The check-in staff were great too giving us recommendations and making us feel welcome.. Food was so delicious.. Highly Recommended!

Great experience, friendly staff, perfect location near sand dunes.. The tent were well equipment and had everything necessary for a unique comfortable stay.. Lots of excursions provide by the desert camp as well breakfast & dinner.. Had a great time during our stay here!
