We recently stayed in the Talbot hotel in Carlow, the evening before attending a wedding in Ballykealy.
When booking, I had requested a quiet room , at the end of the corridor if at all possible. A bonus would have been the top floor.
The receptionist Tufah was so gracious and welcoming. I was delighted that the hotel had made a note of my request and accommodated me in a room as requested. I appreciate...
Room was spacious but had a car park view. Not great.
Also they took our dirty towels but didn’t replace clean ones. I had to call down for some.
Also the shampoo condenser item which was stuck on the wall fell down in the bath. Having asked it was put back, but then it fell again at 5.30am with an almighty bang, which woke us up and scared us.
Our hotel experience
The hotel staff were excellent. The food was very good. The room was comfortable (accessible room) but could do with refresh. The carpet was quite stained in places, the tiles on floor of shower were sharp around the drain, the shower taps were roughly fixed to shower wall and very difficult to turn off, there was no air-conditioning in bedroom, no safe, and key card kept failing...
Nice hotel, good service.
There was a party on in a function room the night we where staying and we could hear all the noise from the room our stay was ok.
Great food, Great Service and Highly R commended
The Talbot is a great hotel and friendly and helpful staff. The bar and restaurant food is excellent and well worth a visit.
A good hotel, central location
Staff on reception were very friendly and welcoming, room was nice, breakfast was good, all on all a nice experience

I’ve been here a number of times now, for good reason. The hotel is lovely, the food is lovely (the chowder is divine) and most importantly, the staff are lovely - they appear to genuinely enjoy working here, have a laugh and will go the extra mile (Colin and Mark - looking at you!). The building has a lovely history and has been maintained with lovely furnishings and comfortable spaces. Thank you...
My only real complaint is no plant-based milk and butter-type spread. It was easy enough to put together a hot or cold vegan breakfast. The addition of oat milk and a spread and peanut butter would have made it excellent.
the hotel was fine and the staff very helpfull but being in my late 80s i found the room quite chilly but would stay there again

Central in Carlow
Fantastically placed in Carlow. Great parking facilities. Decor needs a huge update. Lovely staff.
An absolute pleasure from start to finish. Warm & welcoming staff on arrival, a beautiful, comfortable room & a fabulous breakfast to see us off. We could have been miles into the countryside with the peace & tranquility, yet we were a five minute walk to the town centre where we were attending a function. We will certainly be back to try out the dining room.
The hotel located within walking distance to town centre. The room is very spacious but dated. The carpet smelled damp and need replacement. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great.

Stayed for one nite recently. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Decor a bit dated. Storage doors on landing left open even when housekeeping staff were finished bedroom door to no 9 scratched and mattress needs replacing
We stayed two nights for a wedding which was celebrated in the hotel. Is was so professional and staff so friendly and helpful they couldn't do enough for us during our stay. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

We have just come home from a 3 day stay in langtons.
I cant recommend it enough. From the time we arrived the staff were very attentive in every sector. Food was excellent.

First time to visit this hotel..went with family ...spent a full day and night.brilliant experience..some place for everybody to drink eat and chat..we stayed in the garden suites..lovely rooms..maybe could do with a bit more ventilation...had a very enjoyable day and night..also the kids were well catered for..will definitely go back and try spend more than one day..would recommend this place highly...
We went for food this evening and had a lovely dinner with great service. On our way out we happened to ask at reception for things to do and met the lovely Nicola H. She went above and beyond to provide us with recommendations for things to do in Kilkenny, even drawing us a map to the closest swim spot. She is a credit to your business; as we were only restaurant guests but she made us feel like we...

Room was lovely and very clean, staff were very friendly. Location was perfect, right in the centre of the city. We will stay here again
Good service with excellent food
First night room ok cramped
Service and food in restaurant v poor or average at best
Staff not organised
Veg options poor
Second night disaster with rubbish support from reception over repeated complaints about noise from next room
Reception had private mobile number of that guest so something v strange going on.
Follow up by James manager also poor
Expensive for lack of quality and service...
We stay at your hotel every time we come to Kilkenny. Our suite is the best as it is very spacious and spotless. Breakfast is delicious and very varied. I highly recommend staying here. Wendy Carolan
The Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel was top class from booking to departure. We had a superior room depicting luxury with a wonderful view of the street below, it was very spacious and very comfortable! We had dinner at the hotel and had a few drinks and they were all great, the beef blade was melt in your mouth good! But what really stood out to us was how attentive and professional the hotel staff were...
All my 5 stars go to the staff. Such a friendly welcoming hotel where the staff couldn't do much for us. Great location in the city center but on a quiet street. I'll be back.

Loved everything, upon arrival Rachel at reception was exceptional so friendly and welcoming. Room fab so nice and big, spotless even a little welcome chocolate bar as it was a return visit. Bar area is lovely and staff so so nice, great customer service
Breakfast fabulous. All round a fantastic stay *****
Location was superb, view from our room of Kilkenny Castle was incredible, the room itself was wonderfully bright, with one of the best hotel beds I have slept in, breakfast was amazing, all the staff we met were lovely and friendly. We absolutely loved staying here and will definitely be back soon.
Lovely staff and comfortable accommodations. We road out ex-hurricane Ophelia there, and while every other place in town was closed, the entire hotel was ceaselessly trying to make sure their guests were happy and satisfied. Stellar!
We stayed here for 1 night to catch the sights around Kilkenny. We received a warm Irish welcome at check-in and walked around town as our room was not quite ready. The hotel is situated right in the middle of everything, the castle is about a 5 min walk and medieval mile is just around the corner. Our room (111) was spacious and had a Nespresso machine, hair dryer, and everything you could need for...
What a wonderful stay! We were with a large travelling party and Pembroke was our first stop. Every room was different but all were equally charming. We stayed in 130. The view wasn't spectacular but it was quiet even on a weekend night. Lots of room for our luggage. The furnishings were gorgeous and the mattress and pillows were oh so comfy. The hotel was perfectly situated so you could walk...
I can't write enough good things about this hotel. In this medieval city this hotel provides all the luxuries of the modern world. The staff is extremely corteous, the rooms are great and I had a room with the full view of the castle. They have a nice restaurant and free parking in the back. The location doesn't get more central with a 5 minute walk to great restaurants and all the attractions. Go...

Good location, prefect breakfast
The hotel is very well located in the city center, 25 minutes from the train station. The staff is really nice. They helped us a lot to get an accessible room.
The bedrooms were nice and The pool was beautiful and the food was excellent and staff more than helpful.
Central location. Spotlessly clean. Great food. Lovely staff. Great leisure centre. Needs higher temperature in rooms and bar area as quite chilly . Overall enjoyable visit
A nice centrally located hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Good gym and spa. Good place for a weekend break
Nice hotel, room are spacious and beds are comfortable. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is good.

yummy Irish breakfast, room is clean and tidy
Rooms were fantastic, breakfast was great.
Staff helpful and friendly
It was a lovely room very big. You must put the tag on the door handle if you want your room cleaned daily. I wasn’t aware of that information so my room wasn’t cleaned.
Perfect place to stay for families. Nice swimming pool for kids and excellent food.
From the moment we checked in, this hotel went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The staff couldn't do enough for us, the food was excellent as was our room. We found it easy to relax and enjoy our stay. Great hotel in Kilkenny.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Not far from the city center. Great facilities and the staff, mostly young, were very nice and friendly. It's good to see the hotel sector bouncing back. Well done to everyone at the Kilkenny Hotel.
