Description

The world's the only Museum of the legendary tank T-34

The Museum complex "History of tank T-34" fully dedicated to the legendary military tank, who won worldwide fame in the years of the Great Patriotic War.

The Museum is located at 37 km of Dmitrov highway, on the turn, from where 6 Dec 1941 T-34 tanks went on the offensive on Lobnya and Belyy Rast, occupied by the Germans. The offensive eliminated the immediate threat of capture of Moscow after long fierce fighting that lasted through the autumn of 1941. It was the first major defeat of the German army in World War II, the German army ceased to be invincible. For a counter-attack was followed by a General offensive of the red Army, turning the tide of war and history.

The museum was founded by the woman - the daughter of a design engineer N. A. Kucherenko, engineer, co-author of the T-34 - Larisa Vasileva. The museum opened on 6 December 2001, the day of the 60th anniversary of the counter-offensive tank.

In 1983 writer and poetess Larisa Vasilyeva has published a novel, a remembrance book "About my father". The novel caused a great response among the people somehow involved in the T-34 tank, were sent in such a huge number of letters with memories, photographs and documents that Larisa Nikolaevna has offered to create a museum. The first informal version of the museum opened on may 2, 1985 right on the cottage of Vasilyeva, in one of the rooms of her small house. But the letters and the material kept coming, the exhibition was expanded and required state support. The project was supported by the Governor of Moscow region Boris Gromov and the mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov. With their support, the museum was built.

The part of the exposition of the museum complex is housed in a building:

  • the First floor of the building is devoted to the history and development of the T-34, the records of the tank, the internal structure.

Interesting Museum that tells of the history of the T-34.
There is an outdoor exposition of the 7 modern tanks, which replaced the 34-ke (admission is free).
What is important for the children, there are two more tanks that can climb, and one of them has cutouts in the design for a more casual perception of design.
Interesting for a family trip with the kids, and just adults.
You can stop passing by. And you can combine with a trip to the estate Marfino.
