Description

Belogorsky Convent is a friary in Perm Krai, Russia. Located 85 km south of Perm and 50 km from Kungur, on Belaya Gora (White Mountain).

History

Construction of the first wooden church on this place was completed in February 1894. Was opened school for orphans boys.

September 16, 1897 on the Belaya Mountain arrived the first procession from Moscow and St. Petersburg on, was delivered five holy icons. In November 16, 1897, the wooden church burnt down. Construction on the new, two-story, stone church began in June 1902, but it was opened only in 1917. Tragic events had come to the monastery in 1918. On August 12, 1918, the Bolsheviks tortured and threw the monastery's Archimandrite Varlaam into the river Kama. From August 1918 to January 1919, the Bolsheviks executed and tortured 34 monks of the monastery. In March 1923, the monastery was completely closed.

During Soviet times, the monastery was used as a nursing and invalid home. Reconstruction of the monastery began in late 1980s.

The place is strong, the views from the mountain are wonderful, the beauty and power of nature is felt. Font with ice water, my heart stops. A feeling of lightness in the whole body after it.

In the refectory of the dishes are simple but tasty, and the buns above and beyond.

Great place, went there with the family on the way back from Crybaby in Suksun. From the mountain offers a stunning view around. If you plan to go there, take an empty container for Holy water in the monastery plastic containers of honey.

Very beautiful monastery. Nature is awesome. The mountain offers beautiful landscapes. I recommend everyone to visit. A tasty and inexpensive meal in the refectory.

The temple is located on the hill offering gorgeous views around, especially in the autumn season. Here is the Monastery, a belfry, a dining room ( good food by the way), a font with ice water. The plunge pool is divided into male and female Department. Near the font there is a pond, it is necessary to look in the summer. Here we baptized their children. I do not regret. Everything was great!
