Description

Built of limestone slabs, plastered and whitewashed. The Northern chapel in the name of the position of the Belt of the Theotokos.

History

  • Founded in 1339, according to the inscription on Church plate
  • In 1863 ponoven the iconostasis of the main temple.
  • In the early twentieth century was the regimental Church of the Yenisei infantry regiment.
  • In 1925 the Church - the main Church of the supporters of the Patriarchal Orthodox Church (Trinity Cathedral by that time was occupied by the Renovationists). In 1929 she was pereosvyaschena in the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael.
  • July 5, 1936, the Cathedral Architect. Michael is closed, and the building of the Church was transferred to the Museum.
  • During the occupation of the temple opened by representatives of the Pskov Orthodox mission.
