Dubrava Hotel in Smolensk

It was my first time in Smolensk. The hotel is in a very nice place, not far from the city center. Very clean and nice rooms for a reasonable price. Delicious food both in the restaurant and room service. I would like to say separately about the incredibly responsive and friendly staff working at the reception. Starting with booking by phone, to meeting upon arrival. All questions are answered quickly, everything is explained. Only positive impressions remain. If I come again, then definitely to Dubrava, I liked everything very much, now this is a rarity. Friends will also definitely visit.

The hotel itself raises no objections, but there is one and very significant but. If you want to dine at the hotel, be sure to book a table. The hotel restaurant is not focused on residents, even if there are free seats, you will not be sent to prison, referring to the reservation. At the same time, they came to the restaurant at 19 pm and until 21 pm the tables were free and remained. Extremely not efficient staff, the whole autumn is long. In addition (and for me personally this is important), the attitude towards the guest is a fool himself. I ordered the simplest dish lula kebab of chicken and chips. I waited over an hour. They brought the dish warm on a preheated plate, I think it was warmed, but this is not certain. The most incredible thing is that the chicken smelled like a ram. Turning to the waiter in order to find out the reason for the cross between a chicken and a horned one in the face, without any share of confusion, he says that it is the smell of rye from the lavash on which the dish itself is served. When the manager was called from the account, the dish was excluded, but the manager did not bring any apologies for crossing chickens and rams. If you are used to the service, then book a table in the establishments of the city of Smolensk, since a taxi is inexpensive.
