Hotel Santiago de León in Leon

The rooms are outdated, with a musty, unpleasant smell, and it’s as if the hotel hasn’t seen a single upgrade or proper maintenance in the last 40 years. I’ve never seen a filthier curtain in a hotel room, and there were mold stains all over the bathroom.
The beds? They’re more like mobile platforms - one slight turn and you’re halfway across the room, romantically drifting away from your partner whether you like it or not.

The TV was mounted so absurdly high on the wall, you’d need a chiropractor on speed dial just to survive an episode of anything. I’m honestly surprised they don’t hand out neck braces at check-in.

We called room service, only to be told we had to pick it up ourselves downstairs, despite their initial claim that a high-tech robot would deliver it to our door. In hindsight, expecting a functioning robot from such a run-down hotel was clearly wishful thinking.

And for this disgrace, they charge €80 per night? Absolutely never again. I strongly advise everyone to stay away and save yourself the regret.

I chose this hotel specifically for its swimming pool as I was traveling with children. It was very disappointing to find that the swimming pool was closed. This should be notified when you are booking.
