El Cigarral de las Mercedes in Toledo

We attended a wedding here in late March. and stayed for two nights The venue is beautiful, the rooms are large compared to typical European hotels. Every staff person we encountered were friendly and helpful - they go out of their way to ensure a wonderful experience. The grounds are beautiful and a perfect setting for a destination wedding. There wasn't anything I can say negative about this venue and our overall experience.

We were so fortunate to celebrate our wedding at Cigarral de las Mercedes last month, and it's truly hard to put into words just how incredible the entire experience was from start to finish. The venue itself is beyond stunning and photos don’t even begin to do it justice—but what truly sets it apart is the hospitality and service from the entire team. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Every single person we encountered was kind, warm, and welcoming, and that energy made all the difference throughout our time there. The food experience was exceptional—every dish we tried was amazing, and choosing our menu was nearly impossible because everything was so delicious. The culinary quality is top-tier, and every guest raved about everything that was served. What makes this venue truly unique is that they can handle absolutely everything in-house: catering, florals, hair and makeup, music, décor, setup, etc. and every service was better than any outside vendor we could’ve imagined. Everything they provide is thoughtful, high-quality, and tailored to your vision. All while being a a fully-serviced hotel, so your guests can relax and enjoy the entire experience without having to worry about logistics. A special thank you to Sara, Jayne, Kelsey, Bianca and the entire Gunderson & Lleida family, who made the entire planning process seamless—even while we were living abroad in different time zones. They thought of everything. Not a single detail was overlooked, and their professionalism and warmth made the journey not just easy, but truly enjoyable. We can’t thank the entire team enough. They brought our dream wedding to life, and gave us and our loved ones the most perfect week of our lives. It was truly unforgettable, and we will cherish these memories forever.

We attended a wedding and stayed at Cigarral de las Mercedes for two nights. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. I was surprised to hear that the wedding couple booked this venue, sight unseen, and relied on them to plan and execute virtually everything (welcome party, ceremony, reception, etc.). That's what I call having confidence! The welcome party was held adjacent to their pond while the reception and service was held on the other side, overlooking Toledo. Great views! While the apps at the welcome party and reception were varied and very good, the reception dinner was the best meal (beef tenderloin) I have ever had at a wedding. This was not a large wedding (＜100 guests), making the usual wedding challenges somewhat easier. However, their execution of the event was flawless. Every guest I talked with had a great time. If you are planning a destination wedding with less than 100 guests, they are highly recommended and should definitely be considered!

I love this place!!! it is not very far from the center of Toledo. About 10 minutes by car. The place is very beautiful, with a beautiful view, lighting, food. It seems like a must visit, but it is also quite expensive. But visiting this place is an amazing experience. The staff is very welcoming and amazing. We went for a retreat.

We got married in October at this Cigarral and everything went better than we expected. From the very first moment we were clear that we wanted to do it here and we were not disappointed. The guests were delighted and we could not be happier. If we ever have to do another event, we will do it here. Highlight all the staff who were involved in the organization and the whole celebration, but especially Pilar, the woman who was attentive to me throughout the wedding and did not miss a single detail. A big thank you to Cigarral de las Mercedes because we have wonderful memories of our wedding.

Incredible (3 day) wedding at Cigarral! Very very top notch food/drink/helpfulness/friendliness of the hosts. I have spent almost 1000 nights at the property over the last 10 years and have seen some really good ones and some not. I would compare the overall quality of Cigarral to the Four Seasons. There were so many little things that they simply took care of: finding/booking a vineyard tour, finding a Covid test for us on New Years Eve (so we could fly back to the US), coordinating a taxi for us at 7am on New Years Day. The list goes on! If I had the chance, I would hold an event there with complete confidence and faith that they would take care of everything and deliver an incredibly flawless experience. Cigarral is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been… I was at a wedding on New Years Eve. The backdrop of the ceremony was the city of Toledo at sunset. Simply breathtaking. The whole weekend I spent there was full of good food, amazing views and incredible staff. I highly recommend Cigarral for any event, especially a wedding. I would go back in a heartbeat! ❤️

No words can describe the beauty of this hotel, the gardens are outstanding. We were here for a wedding and apart from the beautifull surroundings it is the staff that stand out, nothing is to much bother, and it is service with a genuine smile and 💯% efficiency, the canopies were the best I have ever encountered and the food was delicious ! So we would just like to thank all the staff for making this such a memorable day.

I couldn’t recommend Cigarral de las Mercedes more. I am blown away by their attention to detail, friendly and helpful team and how easy they made the wedding planning process. We had an amazing 3 day celebration, we didn’t want it to end. Each team member made our guests feel incredibly welcome, the food was delicious and the venue is breathtakingly beautiful. Even their attention to detail with the decoration is worth mentioning. I would go back and do it all again exactly the same with the Cigarral del las Mercedes team in a heartbeat. There was zero stress in the planning process they were so helpful. Trust me, you want to get married here!
