Incredible!!
Highly recommended!!
A masterpiece of interior design!!
The whole concept is that it’s a home, and it really did feel like that! It felt as though we were staying at a friends home, where we can roam around all of the shared areas and spend time anywhere, in the living room, lounges, library, garden etc. The space was designed by a famous interior designer. Our room was an attic room that was quite beautiful. We also opted to have dinner at the house; the menu changes daily depending on what the chef orders in, and on our night it was delicious. We also used their spa room / sauna which was very enjoyable.
My only comment is that while the staff were all very friendly and nice, they were not always available to be found. At times I would need something and go to the main check in counter and there wouldn’t be anyone there, and I would have to roam around the house looking for someone. Same goes for the entrance. You have to ring the bell every time you come back to Ett Hem and on a few occasions, no one answered the door bell or they answered but didn’t follow up / open the door / or come to get us. I understand it’s a part of the casual home feel, but for a luxury hotel I would have preferred a little more availability…
Great stay overall though!!
The restaurants are excellent, but reservations are required. The first restaurant is relatively simple, offering a choice of one to five courses. A full five-course meal costs around 1,000 RMB per person. The second restaurant offers seven courses and is more expensive. We didn't get a reservation due to a local festival, but it's likely good. We ate in the first restaurant twice, with two completely different menus.
Breakfast is simple but excellent quality. Everything is cooked to order, not made to order, and the ingredients are very fresh.
Swedes tend to be reserved and not overly enthusiastic, but they're very friendly. Just ask them if you need anything, and they'll do their best to help. Snacks are free in the room, but drinks are charged. There's no kettle, but you can request one from the front desk.
We didn't get a large room (which was very popular), so the basic room was smaller, but it had everything we needed, including a full set of skincare products.
All in all, this was the best small boutique hotel I've ever stayed in. We even bought a bunch of organic toiletries before leaving.
Such a beautiful hotel with such lovely, friendly and accommodating staff. Every last thing has been thought of, with the rooms having everything from a skincare routine to eye masks and a running map of the local area.
It feels so homely, which is exactly the concept - lovely!
