Very poor and shabby hotel. I stayed for one night, and the room was extremely worn down and very small—so cramped that it was difficult to move around. The bathroom tiles had visible limescale buildup, and the TV was positioned in a way that made it uncomfortable or impossible to watch from the bed.
The sound insulation was very poor. Street noise was clearly audible, as well as vacuum cleaners and other cleaning noises from adjacent rooms. I had requested a late checkout at 1:00 PM, but due to what appears to have been an internal system issue, this was not respected. As a result, the cleaning staff knocked on my door four times between 10:00 and 12:30, and on several occasions opened the door to ask if they could clean. This was not the fault of the staff, but the process was highly disruptive. Also the room was so cold, they had put up an extra convector radiator in the room (fire hazard).
Scandic hotels are generally of good standard, but this particular hotel falls far below expectations. By international rating standards, it could never be classified as more than a two-star hotel.
I booked the Queen size room and a loyal Scandic member, didn't match the description at all.

Nice hotel in the city center with friendly and attentive staff. Small but clean rooms. Heated floors in the bathroom was a plus on a cold winter morning.

Not worth the price. Worn out interior, deposits along the panels in the room, but worse also in the bathroom. Ugly smell from the bathroom, unclear whether it is sewage or technical fumes, likely to leave you with a headache. Although the housekeeping acknowledged the smell, the reception denies it. Insulting really. Breakfast is below average, poor standard for produce, dry bread, low quality coffee, low end cheese and charc, with no love. Absolutely not recommended for anything other than a good central location. I could have added the recording of the housekeeping acknowledging the bad smell, but gdpr🫶🏽

Very good breakfast, comfortable rooms, but very poor customer service. The iron in my room was damaged. It left a burnt mark on my shirt while I was visiting town for business. They requested a receipt of the shirt for reimbursement, while knowing fully that no one keeps receipts on shirts, let alone 70 euro shirts that might have been bought a year ago. Utter lack of honesty. Plenty of hotels in town, pick one that understands hospitality.

The Scandic Uplandia is around 10 minute walk from Upplsala railway station. The rooms are reasonably large with a good bathroom and shower. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of hot and cold options. There is also a gym and sauna. The gym is quite small, but everything was in good working order. Overall, an excellent hotel, which was also very good value.

I stayed with my family on a trip to Uppsala for a conference. The “family room” was two single beds and a pull-down bunk. With the bunk pulled down there was very little space in the room. With temperatures in the mid-to-low 20s the air conditioning did not get the room cool enough at night. The room did not have a fridge. The location is great as was the (included) daily breakfast.

Acceptable hotel in the middle of Uppsala. Plain and simple rooms. The main advantage is the location in central Uppsala with walking distances to everything.
