Castaway Resort Koh Lipe in Ko Lipe

This bungalow-style resort by Sunset Beach is really lovely. The check-in deposit is just 100 THB.
I really enjoyed the hotel's layout—it's only a five-minute walk to a 7-Eleven, which is super handy.
The hotel's beach area is pretty small and often has boats around, so if you'd like to go snorkeling, I'd suggest walking about 10 minutes to the east side of the beach. For calm, beautiful turquoise water, head to the north tip of the island—it's about 30 minutes from the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort offers massage services, a diving club, and yoga classes.
A quick note on the bungalow I stayed in: there was no hot water, quite a few mosquitoes, and the lighting was fairly dim since it's nestled among gardens and other houses. The hotel also follows an eco-friendly policy to save electricity.

We absolutely loved this place even though there was no AC or hot water, which we knew about before we went. The reception area and restaurant are next to the sea. You can have a massage or book onto a yoga class. It’s easy and quick to walk into town from the hotel. It was our happy place and would definitely go back.

Came here in 2011 for the fist time and now back after 15 years! It’s still a Jewel! Service could be a bit better, but overall it’s an amazing island!

Castaway is by far the best resort on Koh Lipe. It's quiet and tucked away from the busy walking street. It is perfect for anyone who is looking for a relaxing place to unwind and read a book and just check-out from busy life. A shout out to the Joy and Saul at the dive shop. Most resorts advertise having a dive shop but in reality what they have is an arrangement with a local dive center who pick you up and drop you off. Castaway's dive shop is in the resort and very friendly and professional. If you are a diver go talk to Joy, she's an amazing teacher.

A very beautiful place with an authentic Thai style. Rooms are nice and spacious, but quite basic. The location is charming, with a beautiful bar and restaurant.

We were very impressed! The hotel is located in a very private and peaceful area, and you can swim in the sea directly from your room. The rooms are simply designed but beautifully decorated, creating a lovely atmosphere. And most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious.

The accommodation and staff were excellent. My only minor issue was the very loud music that played until 10 PM each night. While this might not be directly the property's fault, it's a real pity because if it were quieter, it would be absolutely perfect for a relaxing getaway.
