Frau Guler in Amasra

Frau Guler was one of the best boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The location is wonderful. The view is beautiful. The owners are wonderful. They treat you like your family. I absolutely loved it. The room is a little cold but they have heating. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and it was worth it! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I recently stayed at Frau Güler Hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between charm and comfort, offering guests a warm, welcoming environment that feels both personal and professional. Even though we arrived very late (2am local time)

Rooms:
The rooms were spotless, modern, and tastefully decorated. I appreciated the thoughtful touches—comfortable bedding, soft lighting, and good soundproofing that made for restful nights. Housekeeping was consistent and attentive throughout my stay.

Service:
The staff, especially the owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. You can tell it’s a family-run place by the attention to detail and genuine hospitality.

The breakfast buffet was a highlight—fresh, local ingredients and a good variety for all dietary preferences. The small garden terrace was a peaceful spot to unwind in the evenings. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and the front desk was open late, which was convenient.

Location:
Situated in a quiet but accessible part of town by the sea side, the hotel is within walking distance of shops, cafes, and public transport. It’s a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

We enjoyed our stay so much in all aspects. Having home made breakfast in a terrace with amazing view while chatting and joking with the host Gulsah, her nice husband along wit their wonderful team was very enjoyable. They were preparing sarma yaprak and we spoke about different flavours of yaparak.... we could have set for hours relaxed and having peice of mind. Thank you Gozde for very delicious breakfast and your warm service ....Sarab, we are so happy to meet you and wish to meet again, your coffee made our day :)
Thanks Ozlem for your great service and help. The family vibe in Frau Guler is very positive. Its no doubt a great trip and I have to say that Amasra is very under rated. I found it one of the most beautiful towns in Turkey... we did a four day trip from Istanbul to Abant Bolu, Safranbolu and finally to Amasra... Amasra is a must stay if you plan a visit to Safranbolu. The history, nature and sea view is best I have seen in Turkey!
Frau is located inside the walls of the old castle in walking distance to everything so you won't need the car.... just make sure you get clear instructions where to park ahead of time.

Staying at Frau Güler's Boutique Hotel was an absolute delight! warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy, the rooms are beautifully kept, and the personal touches truly make the experience special. Thank you for such a memorable stay ...we’ll definitely be back!❤️

Such a lovely, dog-friendly boutique hotel. The family that owns it is wonderful and the view from the terrace is spectacular. As others have noted, the rooms are not large, but we spent most of our stay reading, drinking tea, and chasing our toddler around on the terrace! Breakfast was delicious with many options, including French toast. We had such a pleasant stay and cannot wait to return.

Beautiful views. Clean, comfortable and cheerful rooms (small as other reviews have said but I didn't mind). Friendly service.

Loved this little gem of a guesthouse. Good breakfast, nice views from the balcony and the breakfast area, nice owners / staff. Rooms are small, but when all your hear from your room are waves and seagulls, it’s blissful. My only gripe is that it’s really hard to know where reception is…

Beautiful place to stay in Amasra! Nice view to the sea and super clean and comfortable rooms. It makes you feel so relaxed that you won’t want to leave here. Highly recommended!

The moment you step into the little terrace area, your fatigue completely melts away however long you were travelling. You are greeted by the sweetest, warmest, smiling people and you become friends very soon.

The view is incredible, location is perfect, away from the rest of the city and on top of the old fortress. You are literally surrounded by history, each step forward takes you to the sea and to the sky. Also they are very very pet friendly, we were there with our dog and she was absolutely adored and made many new friends.

On a technical perspective, amenities were perfect, free tea and coffee in rooms and in the terrace area all the time, rooms are very tastefully designed and decorated, perfectly clean and fresh, beds were comfortable, we went there in the colder months so heating was perfect, very clean and beautiful bathrooms, wi-fi, tv, free parking of course, basically all the things you can expect from a famous 5 star all inclusive hotel.

I strongly recommend them even though I'm afraid that I would not be able to find any available rooms soon because of their popularity =)
