Anitta Hotel in Chorum

Ok, but no english speaking people.
Staff does not speak english, except from the valet man. He came rushing to us to help us unload our suitcases and then parked our car in the hotel garage. He spoke english quite well and even submitted us with maps and information about the city and Hattusa. Breakfast was so so. Room was ok but not more than ok.

Most likely the best hotel in Corum. A gorgeous hotel with a very good restaurant on the top floor. A beautiful reception and the rooms are lovely. But the rooms, as others have mentioned, were sooooo hot! Our room was 28 degrees upon arrival. And there was no AC in the hotel. The hall corridor was about 15 degrees cooler. :( We left our hotel room door open for as long as we could, but it was not a big help. The window only opened a crack, so there was no cross-breeze to clear out the heat. Although the staff were lovely, they did not speak English. We only had one towel in our double room, so this meant having to go down to the lobby since communication by phone did not work. The shower is in a tub (I hate this), so be forewarned. Since the room was so hot, we had to keep the window cracked open. This meant a lot of street noise - and the mosque is a bit too close and a bit too loud at a rather awkwardly early time in the morning....

Definitely not a five star hotel
I booked the room under my name. However, when checking in, the staff wanted to put the room in my husband's name. One of the staff spoke a little English, but all friendly communication was directed at my Turkish husband. We ate averidge food in the restaurant. Ramadan started the next day, so we couldn't get wine with the food. We could have gotten wine in the hotel room, but since the room was transferred to a Turkish man's name, it was also difficult. Apparently, there are no Westerners here, and you can see that. The breakfast was varied and plentiful, which is a plus. The hotel has many floors and only one elevator was in use. Otherwise the place was clean; although you can smoke in every room and it smells.
