I’m so DISAPPOINTED with Cowper Inn. In fact, I still can’t believe how the manager treated me. I made a pre-reservation for 10 rooms in October 2017 and he gave me his word to block the rooms until mid March. That was last October (a year before the requested date!). End of January, more then two months later – apparently – he realized that they are already fully booked during that time. This can’t be true, given the fact that I consider the manager as a serious businessman. One of my principles is that agreements have to be respected. Obviously this is not at case with Cowper Inn. So SAD!

An amazing place to stay near downtown Palo Alto. You can walk almost anywhere from it and it's close to Stanford as well.

Superb B&b in a lovely part of Palo Alto, just blocks from the action on University and convenient to Stanford. Greatly enjoy the inimitable Hugo, our host, and a wonderful, well curated breakfast each morning. Room is cozy, and excellent bed, but dated and can't figure out TV plus the desk isn't really functional for me to sit at and work. That is my only criticism, definitely recommend for the right customer at a solid value with great charm.

We were only in town for a few days (sadly), but absolutely loved our stay at The Cowper Inn! Excellent location - walking distance to University Avenue's cafes and shops etc. Really responsive and incredible communication with Hugo from Cowper Inn management - many many thanks for approving our very late check out on departure day - this was SO much appreciated! Thanks again for a wonderful stay - we look forward to returning soon!

I loved my last trip to Palo Alto, for work in the mid-90s, thanks to this wonderful B&B. My room was small, as was the bathroom, but I didn't mind. I love the atmosphere of an older building that's well maintained. The breakfast in the dining room was like family, and I met some very nice fellow travelers. I hope to go back, but on my own, not for work. Highly recommended.

Cowper Inn is a nice Bed & Breakfast in Palo Alto. The buildings (yes, there's more than one) are well kept, clean, and comfy. The room I had was spacious and well furnished with a nice, small bathroom attached. My only complaint is that the shower was super small for me. Being 6'4" I kept whacking against the walls while trying to get clean.

The stay at the Cowper Inn, in the heart of downtown Palo Alto, was a genuinely amazing experience. The rooms were clean and well decorated, but what really sold it for me was the extremely comfortable bed that rivaled my own. The owners were onsite every day, attentive to their guest’s needs, and extremely accommodating to my specific requests and needs. Make sure to make time for breakfast when you stay here, the waffles and quiche were out of this world. Charles Brooklyn, NY.

Writing this review based on feedback that my parents gave me (they're the ones who stayed there).
Main complaint was that the person who received them at the hotel seemed more annoyed than happy to see them.
Breakfast was nice but inconvenient (for them, a retired couple) that it doesn't start until 8AM on the weekend.
Bed was mostly comfortable but beginning to sag in a U-shape.
Room was very small, no good place to put the suitcases.
