Rodeway Inn in Redding

I personally did not stay at this location however my son stayed two nights arriving on a last minute scholarship to Simpson University. He hadn’t had time to secure an apartment so we were winging it and finding affordable hotels. When my son needed an additional two nights stay, I booked and PAID for an additional two nights stay. My son went to check in and was met by a different receptionist (I suspect the owner), and told there was a policy of securing a $250 deposit. This is not listed anywhere in their policy that I can find nor was any leniency granted to my son. My son also was not charged a $250 deposit for the prior two nights and informed the previous receptionist “didn’t know what he was doing”. If you value service, please avoid Abode (Rodeway Inn) motel. We weren’t going to complain about the rooms with our being appreciative of their daily rate being lower than the average in California, however they were below acceptable and the room was entirely too expensive to be treated indifferently. My son called me while checking in and I heard the receptionist being extremely loud and rude to him however when I called to confirm cancellation, the same person was friendly. I’m not sure what this was about and I hate to factor in race but I am only left with and assumption this may be the case. ABODE MOTEL formerly Rodeway INN/Redding CA, Please update your policy to reflect accurate fees and be consistent.

The website makes it look nice but it's actually waaay overpriced. The room was weirdly dark, the AC sucks, the bed sucks, and there wasn't even a shade on the lamp lol. I definitely wouldn't go here again.

Disgusting dirty place. There were hairs on the toilet seat. The toilet seat wasn't even attached well just flopped to one side or the other. For a non smoking room it sure smelled like smoke. The card under the shampoo and soap was stuck to the counter with grease and grime. There was not a clean mirror wall or surface anywhere. Popcorn inter the edge of the bed and the dirty coffee filter in the coffee pot both from previous guests. And the beds were horrible. If you do stay... bring your own pillow and maybe sheets too unless you like sleeping on sandpaper.

The worst property I have stayed at. No cleaning of rooms, no help or interest about boarding passes for flights. Yes they smiled but the lack of cleanliness was appalling. Rodeway is off my list to ever stay at. I booked through a credit union, mistaken thought that any quality control was implied.

Walked in room and smelled like pet urine. Room was extremely hot and took almost 3 hours to cool it down. No wifi password was given and could not connect for work. Outlets next to bed do not work. Would have to either replace phone on floor by front door or bathroom to charge. Turned on TV and it took almost 10 minutes for the picture to turn on after only getting sound and green stripes that resembled the norther lights. Went to shower ans it took about 5 minutes to get warm water. Woke up this morning to get ready to leave (here for work and therefore couldn't change hotels since they paid) and found roaches in the bathroom.
Place needs a very deep cleaning and repair work done.
One plus side, the bed was soft and clean. Only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1

Not close to a convenience store. Rooms are bare and dirty. Used the bathroom and was welcomed by multiple cockroaches. Sheets weren't clean. Coffee maker was lacking coffee and cups.

We stayed here not by choice but bc it was cheap. I would give it negative stars if I could. The pics in review look nicer than it is. Run down hotel with dirty carpet. Keep ur shoes on or ur feet will be black by end of night. spiderwebs in the windows n corner of room. Microwave that only works by pressing one button . Beds were broken n sunk in bad. Sheets stained. The doors don't shut unless u slam them shut , so if someone comes late night your gonna hear the door. Bathroom shower door doesn't shut. The price is def not worth it. Paid cash n had put 150 deposit. When they checked the rooms the towels were lil dirty bc well the whole floor is dirty and she wanted to take the whole $150 for towels!!!!!!!! After go back n forth she gave me $50 back!! Claiming the 3 towels were worth $100!!!!!! R u kidding me what a thief even the choice rewards team thought that was absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!! Do your self a favor n pay more n go somewhere else. As u can see in the pic how dirty their mattress is but claims they don't leave rooms like that🤢🤮

Thr room was dirty, we sat down to eat and instantly cockroches came out and swarmed our food. We killed six within 2 minutes and then left and got a refund.

The place is cute but needs cleaning and some serious bug control help.
