This hostel has very personable staff, in a beautiful location in a quiet neighborhood, and a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. But the place felt like so much more than that. Definitely a worth while experience if you want to try something different than another holiday inn again. Don't miss out on the incredible sourdough pancakes served in the mornings either.

Staff and location were really wonderful. You will need ear plugs or a fan or something to drown out the noise if you are a light sleeper. Bed was comfortable. Shared bathrooms and showers. It’s a hostel! Overall enjoyable experience.

Was a fine place and stay as far as hostels go. The only problem I had was that they are ‘closed’ everyday from 11-4 so you literally can’t even be there. 5 hours is a pretty long time, especially since it’s in the middle of the day. I was pretty tired from traveling and was looking forward to some downtime in bed but couldn’t get it. Probably wouldn’t recommend staying here for longer than just one night.

Positives: the person on front desk was really friendly and went above & beyond.
Negatives: we didn't have much privacy, it was a really tiny room not comfortable for three people, paper thin wall between the bedroom and the communal area, intense atmosphere, lack of basic amenities in the room: no lamps, no rug, no blanket, no towel rack, no place to sit.
They put us (three women) on the ground floor with no hallway to separate us and the shared space, we felt quite exposed.

I paid $180 for a private room, I got there and paid then I saw that there was shared bathroom. Immediately asked for a refund and was denied because the manager said it did not say private bathroom in the Priceline ad where I booked. For $180 a night I wanted a private bathroom. Woke up at 6:30 am and that private bathroom was clogged up and stinky. I immediately left . Staff was nice , paper thin walls, was very disappointed they would not refund my money when I didn’t like the room. Make sure you bring a plumber because it doesn’t say working toilet in the ad.

Lovely, charming, small-scale hostel. If you like cozy hostels, this is the place to stay. There's a super nice common area with a comfortable couch and chairs and even a piano (if slightly out of tune :-)). The staff is very friendly, and always open for a chat. It's really a fantastic little place.

The beds are comfortable and there's storage / locker space. The hostel is clean though not sparkling clean by any means--in particular, the showers could do with a bit of renovation.

Oh, the free breakfast pancakes are amazing!

I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.

Such a wonderful stay! Owner and staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Location is central. There's on-site parking available. Free linens. $6 laundry. Sourdough pancakes were on point! My only criticism, and I hate criticizing this place, is the mattresses could use updating. :(

Overall really cozy place. Nice hang out couches and music instruments. Big kitchen. Nice pancakes that you make yourself in the morning. The rooms are a bit cold and a bit loud. Really nice and informative personal.

I stayed at this hostel for a week and would have stayed longer! It's a special place staffed by people who really care about providing a good experience. The sourdough pancake breakfasts are fantastic, and the location was very convenient to accessing downtown or hiking up Terrace Hill. Laundry is available onsite (for a small fee) and there is free parking in the back.

Keep in mind that it's not a luxury hotel, but if you're looking for a nice "hostel experience" it would be difficult to find somewhere better than this. I would definitely stay here again.
