Spanish Trails Inn and Suites in Durango

I tried to get a reservation online abd calling for 2 weeks. No one returned my calls. I tried to talk to someone in person but the doors were locked. What a waste of my time!!!

First, we were happy finding a room on memorial day weekend, but will remember the horrid price we had to pay to stay there. Won't go back. With that said, staff was friendly but not available after 5. Make sure your needs are met before then. We did not have extra towels nor toliet paper. We did not have cups or ice bucket, both of which we would have enjoyed. We went across the street to buy ours and ice. There was ice, i think, at the motel we just didn't have anything to get it with. The bed was comfortable. Room was huge. Room was quiet. Thankfully it was pretty friendly.
Just make your reservation through a cheaper site, have everything you need before 5, then you should be okay.

The Spanish Trails Motel leaves much to be desired. The room had a smoke smell, the bathtub was improperly cleaned and was covered with a gritty film, the garbage disposal was frozen and unusable, kitchenette sink nearly clogged and very slow draining, the entry door was misaligned and could not be opened without excessive force. When we checked in, we were billed immediately for the two-night stay. No problem there. The next day, there was an arbitrary charge for an additional single night stay. We have tried multiple times through voicemail, an email and three actual phone conversations to get this issue resolved. The young lady we spoke with all three times was frankly quite rude and dismissive and even hung up on us once. Frankly, it feels like we're being stone-walled. I doubt very much that they ever intend to refund this additional night charge. We finally had to dispute it through our credit card company. I wouldn't stay there ever again under any circumstances nor could I ever in good conscience recommend that anyone else ever stay here...ever!
I would rather sleep in my car. At least I know it's clean.

Should be embarrassed to work there or certainly own the crappiest hotel ever. They cater to the worst sorts. Even the Cockroaches won't stay there. Bed bugs are comfortable there though. Stay and you may end up on episode of Cops. Take your chances it could be as spectator, witness or victim.Police there almost nightly
Stayed there for approx 3 weeks. Would rather stay in Tent City in Arizona than stay there again. If your budget is tight, buy a tent and you'll be better off. Not a place to go if yo Kimu are on family trip foresur Would give less than 1 star but site won't let me. Seriously unless you are looking for loud,disrespectful, disturbed people as your neighbors with apparent mental health issues as well as alcohol and or serious drug habits. Then by all means roll the dice and see for yourself. Never ever had a business that I had to leave a review like this. Hopefully will save others the displeasure of staying there.

This company does not want business.
Took me over a week to find a time of the day when someone is in the office at all. Once I was checked in this issue persisted.
They clearly prefer saving money to paying employees. This held true for housekeeping as well. The toilet bowl STANK.
I even overlooked how the maid threw some of my stuff away, but left plenty trash in the room during the weekly 'cleaning.'
Maintenance seemed adequately staffed.

When I had an issue that was keeping me up at night, the front desk decided to put their foot down and ask me to leave, instead of help. They said they would give me a refund for more than my remaining time, but apparently changed their mind.
When I tried to take some photos of the office for this review, a gangsterminded child shoved me out of the room, threatening me and knocking the battery out of the phone. So that pic didn't save. I guess their front office is secret. Maybe they forgot it is visible from the highway lol. Here's one of their toilet instead.
As criminals usually do, they then proceeded to call the police to have them watch me and try to rush me as I left.
The place uses mechanical keyed locks; you can not deadbolt your own door from the outside. Windows are poorly upkept and some have screens. They do not lock.
There was a pot of coffee downstairs every morning. The security kid seemed to keep to himself when there weren't cameras around. Good thing I wasn't streaming live; I don't think others will want to be assaulted by staff or their friends.
In all: mildly acceptable, but very unprofessional. Not recommended for elderly, women, or infirm people due to the wannabe gang frequently lingering on the office.
