Holiday Sands South in Myrtle Beach

We booked room 603 in the condo. When I checked in the staff was friendly and helpful.The unit was not cleaned very well. The curtains to the balcony was broken and hanging,. The ice makers on floor 10 and 6 was broken however the ice maker in our fridge did work. There was tape over the Icemaker signs in the hallway indicatig it was a long term problem, The laundry people were good and offered fresh towels every day. However, the unit had no extra linen for the sofa bed. The bottom of the microwave was a grease covered mess and had not been cleaned in a coon's age. The carpet was filthy and caused your feet to turn black by walking on it. The bedroom carpet was not so bad. Beds were cheap and uncomfortable. The kitchen was not well supplied and there was one really thin frying pan along with 2 small sauce pans. The bathroom door had a broken hinge and was very hard to shut. The washer and Dryer was good and worked well. The closet door was broke and had a sign on it that it would be fixed. The unit was bug free. the total charge for a 7 day visit was 1706.49.

fire sprinkler system is not working so if there's a fire good luck and the hotel manager lied said it was.. but code information says otherwise and the fire chief told me it's not fixed I have proof ... that's not safe and is not okay to not make guests aware ... And some of the rooms are nasty and kitchen pots and more are discussed and need new.. and they have bed bugs

Okay, this was a rough stay, but let's start with the positive things. The location is great, right on the ocean, amazing views, less than a mile.from lots of boardwalk shopping, arcades, food, and attention.

Our room was ready when we arrived, it was very busy check-in, but all 3 employees working the counter were very pleasant and worked quickly.

Also, between the 2 buildings, there were 2 hot tubs, 2 pools, a small lazy river, and a 1-foot kid pool. The kid pools and all indoors. Great for families.

Now the not so good was a bit much...the buildings are very outdated and definitely showing their age with no proper upkeep. There are broken tiles everywhere, mold in tubs, holes in walls, rust of elevator doors and balcony railings. The place needs love TLC bad!

We had a 2 "room" unit with a kitchen. The bedrooms had accordion doors, so no privacy.

No one came with fresh towels, trash bags, or sweep at the very least in the 4 days we were there. We had to ask for towels. The pools are old, my son cut his foot on a broken tile in the pool area. We only lasted 5 minutes in the hot tube because our eyes were burning from the amount of chlorine they had in it.

they deleted all the terrible reviews this place is terrible and dirty period!!!!! went to 2 rooms they were all dirty and carpet was buckling we used this place 20 years ago and it has gone down ever since

The hotel was older and in need of a little TLC. The bathrooms were definitely in need of updating and there was visible rust, dirt and the beginning of mold around the shower/tub. Beds were uncomfortable and though advertised as queens, were full sized beds at best.
The location was wonderful and parking was plentiful. The kitchen was a nice addition to the room, though the refrigerator also had rust in it.
We were there during off season, so the 2 elevators were quick and clean.
