The Hotel Knoxville is not even close to a category 4 Marriott property and I was seriously disappointed to pay $200 a night for 2 rooms that were in the shape they are in. The common areas and the rooms smelled terrible and the shower was covered in mold. The wear and tear on the property is beyond acceptable. Marriott should be ashamed to have their name on this property and even more ashamed at a category 4 rating.
I understand they are under construction but this rating is wholly misleading and the price for the quality of the property and service we received are unacceptable.
I’m sure the property will be very nice once completed and was once nice in its day. However, today it is basically an outdated red roof and the rate should be more like $49.99 a night.
Until the remodel is done the rating should be dropped and so should the prices.
The front desk staff was not at all helpful or welcoming and did not answer the phone when I called down at least 7 times in a row.
Overall, the entire experience was terrible. I was mortified that I chose this hotel for my friends as well. We were all equally disgusted.

It's under renovations and an older property, was one of the first hotels built with a modular design where they brought in concrete sections stacking them like Legos. I believe was to be in time for the world fair years back. When they are finished, will be very nice. They put me in one of the updated rooms and very large and modern. This is a very easy walk to downtown and hotel has free parking so hard to beat. Staff has always been great but it's Marriott so makes sense, staff is always great.

I went here for a workshop. The lobby is awesome. I know they are in the middle of construction but I really hope they leave the floors raw looking like they are now. The staff at the front desk was really nice and accommodating. the rooms were well taken care of and clean. It's also very close to downtown so if you are coming in for a visit this is a nice place to go where you can be in walking distance to a lot of the local attractions including campus.

The room was very very old and outdated. They advertised a beautiful hotel online but when we arrived it was obvious the hotel was not in good shape. The room was very musty and not clean. Curtains were very dirty. Chair was stained. Shower had hair on the walls. Poorly cleaned. The food was decent and service at the bar was good. But the dead flies in the window seal was ruining my appetite. I hope they can get this hotel up to par in the near future.

it’s obvious that the hotel is improving. The rooms are a good size but as many people mentioned, everything is tired and dated.
The rooms are so dark that you’ll likely have one of the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had. And in the end, it’s just a hotel. Isn’t a good night’s sleep all that really matters? Plus, the king sized bed was wonderful, sheets were fresh and clean, the towels soft and oversized.
The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our family had fun imagining what the contractors could do to improve the hotel’s lobby and overall appearance. We imagined an indoor tropical garden, complete with toucans.
Even if the hotel ends up without toucans, we’re still looking forward to coming back and seeing the improvements. Thanks for a great stay!

This place is an interesting piece of architecture and the staff are good, but it needs a major overhaul. Price per nite is hardly justifiable. Water stains in the ceiling can be seen in the lobby and while riding up the elevators. In the room, wallpaper is peeling in the bathroom and the whole room simply seems dated. Fabulous views though! Most rooms are on the river side, but there are 3 floors with a city view. Concierge lounge on the 11th floor. Outdoor pool, workout room, with restaurant and room service available. Free parking is a great perk, as well.

Entire hotel was freezing. Employee's at front desk were friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area. Rooms were clean.

I didn't stay here, but I went to a work event hosted in the ballroom, and the setting, staff and feel of the place was great. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming. I have no need to stay here, living in town, but I'm sure it's cool to stay in.

The Hotel looks cool from the outside. You step inside and it is huge.
For a business traveler, you feel like at another Airport when entering the Hotel.
The staff is doing a great job to help you!
Rooms are average, not well maintained and not the cleanest.
The restaurant has a very welcoming staff but the service is slow and the food doesn't hit a 1 star rating.
It's a Marriott, that could use some creative reinvention.
Go to the town to enjoy the evening and dinner there

Good hotel. Comfy Beds. Nice sized rooms. Check in was quick and easy. Water took an unusually long time to heat up. No complaints but no wow either.
