Admiral in Termez

A LITTLE GEM IN TERMEZ, UZBEKISTAN

Excellent hotel and service. Clean air-conditioned rooms complete with fridge bathroom and "Smart" TV.

All the pictures you see on Booking.com about the Hotel Admiral are exactly what we found !!!

The swimming pool was especially welcome with temperatures in the mid 30's!!👍.The adjoining "social area" under the trees with a few lights was a nice place to relax with friends after a busy sightseeing day!!😂 - cold drinks from reception were available 24hrs but with no restrictions on drinking alcohol outside the room, meant we always had well stocked fridge of beer/wine/juices bought from the local shop! A great way to "wind down" in the evenings.

Just 5 minutes walk down the road is the "AURORA RESTAURANT" - great Uzbek atmosphere with large menu to suit all tastes meant we never had to journey into the city at all looking for restaurants!!

Ordering a taxi by YANDEX APP was easy and the fixed price stated in advance was an advantage with no "increased prices for foreign tourists"!!!🤣 But costing around 16,000 so'm (£1) for a taxi to the city centre this was never a problem anyway!

Note on the website that it says the Railway Station is 700 feet (200 metres) from the hotel!!! This station was closed many years ago once the "Stans" became independent countries. The line from Termez to Amu Darya in Turkmenistan and on to the capital, Ashgabat, was closed due to "lack of demand"! The main station in Termez is located 7km from the hotel in the northern part of the city. But the hotel kindly provides a free transfer service from both the airport and the station - an added bonus for foreign travellers!👍

Thanks to Guljahon for a magnificent choice at breakfast (served 0700-1000) - really set us up for the day and provided a very attentive service for any special requests.👍

The few places in the city centre area which include the Archaeological Museum and Clock Tower, can easily seen by exploring on foot. Most of Termez's historic attractions are on the outskirts of the city and we had a chat with Begzod, the main receptionist (who spoke some English!👍). He kindly arranged for a "car and driver" for us to visit the outlying attractions of Termez on the outskirts of the city!

For 300,000 so'm (£18) this was great value for our 80km, 5 hour trip for three people. We didn't need a tour guide as we already had done our "homework " on the places we wanted to visit so just having a driver take us from place to place seeing all Termez's listed attractions was a great and time-saving way to see these historic locations before the sun got too hot in the afternoon!😀

Definitely, the Hotel Admiral and it's friendly and efficient staff made our stay most enjoyable. As well as the comfortable and well maintained rooms and the excellent help from Begzod on Reception throughout our stay, easily make this a "LITTLE GEM IN TERMEZ!!😀

There is an Aurora cafe nearby, the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. Administrator Natalya is an open and kind person.

I had an excellent stay during my time at admiral. The staff went above and beyond to help me enjoy Termez. In my opinion, admiral is the best place to stay in Termez. Enjoy!

In fact, the hardware conditions of the guest rooms are still very good, and the environment is also beautiful. But there may be a lack of competent maintenance workers. The lights still flicker after being turned off, and the ventilation of the toilet is not always open, resulting in a strange smell when entering. The mattress was still a little too soft for me.Other than that, everything is good.Also, when I went there, the main road was under construction, so need some skills to take a shortcut to get around it.Just a reminder, although you are close to the river, the river is closed, so you can't see the Amu Darya River.
