Disappointing stay – wouldn’t recommend

The only positive about Hotel Ionian is its location close to the beach and the availability of private parking for guests. Unfortunately, everything else was a letdown.

From the moment you check in, you are asked for a €50 deposit and handed a list of extra rules to sign — no warm welcome at all. This immediately makes you feel more like a problem to manage than a guest.

The room was not clean, with a worn, tiny bathroom covered in stains. The walls were dirty, even with visible blood marks from mosquitoes. Breakfast was poor, serving the exact same limited options every morning.

For the high price they charge, the experience is far from worth it — especially when they ask for an extra €5 per person just to use the pool. Overall, this is not a place where you feel welcome, and I would not return.

Frustrating Experience – Would Not Recommend

My stay was very disappointing. The room was so cramped that I couldn't even fully open the refrigerator or the wardrobe. Comfort clearly wasn’t a priority in the design. What made things worse was the attitude of the staff — unhelpful and borderline rude.

The WiFi didn’t work at all, and when I asked the receptionist about it, I got no explanation or support. I wasn’t the only one — another guest was visibly upset and also complained about the lack of internet, but the staff showed no concern.

Poor facilities, no service mindset, and nonexistent WiFi — this is not what I expect from a hotel. Definitely not coming back.

We stayed 2 nights with 2 adults and 1 child.
-The family-size double room was dirty and uncomfortable. We informed the receptionist, but nothing was done.
-They charged an extra 5000 Lek (local currency) for pool access, which closes at 8 pm, and only accepted cash.
-Breakfast was supposed to be a buffet until 10:30 am, but on both days it wasn’t ready. The first day we were served a traditional dish instead. On the second day, after ordering, we were told coffee wasn’t included and had to be paid for separately. Then the power went out, so we didn’t get coffee at all.
-Staff seemed tired and uninterested in helping.

The location and view are great, but the hotel is overpriced. We do not recommend it.

Very regular beach rooms. For the high price payed. Had to call the cleaning ladys ( or the normal cleaning period once in 2 to 3 days ) had to remember them for towells change...

The restourant was just fine. Good cooking but i am reviewing the hotel now.

The "hotel beach umbrellas" was rented to a privat beach club and we were sent to the end rows... ( stayd there only the first day then went to other places ).

The rooms were not well inspected berfore our arival. 2 days needed to fix the showe head....

The only good things about this "hotel" were the pool and the proximity to the sea.

Never ever going to that palce again.
