The apartment was super clean, neat and tidy! Very spacious and well set out. Exceptional facilities incl washing machine and dryer. Amenities were in abundance- my wife was chuffed there was a shower cap as a lot don't supply! ;). Pool and gym sensational- very clean and easy to access. Convenient location too... great restaurants and board walk.

We booked room from last week but today my husband received call from the Chifley apartments asking to relocate us to different room. Not sure why they did that since we already booked the room for another week. It doesn’t end here they give us single bed instead of double, wardrobe drawer missing, quilt is dirty as well as the room has bad smell. We have no idea why they relocate us if they don’t have another room for new guest that doesn’t mean to give someone else’s room to them unbelievable.😏😏😏😏

Central location. Plenty of food places within walking distance. Apartment has 2 hot plates, oven & microwave. Great for long stays.

Seriously… this place is RAN DOWN big time. Check in staff were terrible and the cleanliness was appalling. Staff couldn’t have cared less and really didn’t want to help. Super dated. That hotel needs to be bulldozed and built again. Avoid at all cost.

Avoid this place at all costs. The first room they gave me was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned from the last guest. The second room stunk of cigarette smoke and the third room had very uncomfortable beds. It took 5HOURS to book in because each room was disgusting. Service was horrendous and they gave us the run around when we asked for a refund. No manager was on-site, so it was calls and emails and took >30 mins to get onto someone that would actually refund. THIS HOTEL IS A SCAM

We stayed here for one night, so can't comment on anything too much other than the room. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with balcony.
Staff were generally friendly and helpful during check in.
The room was clean, and well appointed, however the balcony clearly had not been hosed or mopped since a previous guest had spilled drinks out there.
Bed's were a little too soft, but were otherwise comfortable.
The room is hardly homely though; dark cupboard doors, tiled floors, stone benchtops, stone topped dining table, stone topped bathroom cabinet, 4 foot tall stone cladding adorning ALL walls throughout the apartment. I'm usually a fan of a clean modern look - this was too much even for me.

Location is amazing. Right opposite the water. Rooms are a good size. Shower is huge. My kids favourite part would be the pool. Have stayed twice now & will again.

Great location, only a short walk to the water and heaps of choices for restaurants. Rooms have everything you need and are tidy. Staff member on check-in was great but was disappointed with service when checking out.

New Years Eve...place was jumping. Still managed to feed everyone with a minimum of fuss! All meals were lovely and staff were really good. Would recommend them to everyone.

The steak was tough and not nice. They took 40min to bring the main meals when I asked twice how long they would roughly be and I was told 20min then 15min. The meals we ordered were sold out and it took them 20 mins to tell us they had run out.When the meals came we had to ask for cutlery. My recommendation is go else where. For a steak house they suck and $112 it's a let down.

Unfortunately, more of than not, there is something wrong with our order, which is a shame because the position of this place is great, right next to the harbour. It usually is difficult to find a park, so always plan to get there early.

Have gone there a few times, have really enjoyed it and the food so perfect. Wouldn't go anywhere else for seafood. Love it there the amount of food you get for your money is great.

We had to wait a bit but it was well worth it for the money you spend you will get good value for money. This place had tasty seafood. I will gladly recommend this place to others.

The squid was inedible. Way to salty. Taking the name of the restaurant way to far. The Girl at counter was lovely but when I raised the saltiness with chef... No F's given. Spent 170 for an average meal....flounder was ok.

After reading the reviews for this place I had planned to take my girlfriend elsewhere but when we got down to the wharf there was hardly anyone seated compared to the surrounding places which may be a little bit of a further red flag for some but there was a lovely two seat table by the hedges closest to the water and it just felt like we were supposed to go there. I did warn my girlfriend again about the reviews but we decided to take the risk as we were only there for the night and I was fearful our night would be ruined but we stayed anyway, we were promptly seated by a well mannered waitress and our 4 Coronas were brought out to us in a bucket of ice which was refreshing, my girlfriend ordered a snapper and I ordered the 250gm Riverina Grain Fed Steak, we also got a platter to munch on while we waited which was nice with the beers, it was actually a very well presented platter with fresh meats, olives, cheese and sun dried tomato and we enjoyed it so much we spoke about coming back just to have drinks and order a bunch of the platters. Our meals didn't come very quickly but I like to say a good meal takes good time and that was what we got. It was a very nice well cooked meal and I am actually glad we went there as we both had an amazing night and received good service in the end. I will definitely return to Silo next time we travel to Newcastle from Sydney based on the experience we had. Well done staff of Silo, you made our night. :)

We picked a beautiful spot and day.. had a share plate off bar menu..done perfect even if deep fried..had a refreshing cocktail..delicious..ambient atmosphere & great service from the staff...our only regret that we hadn't discovered earlier.. be prepared to park a distance though

Lack of passion and pride you'd expect for the price due to lazy and disrespectful staff who are incompetant . The photo's i put up are meatlovers pizza's and meant to have pepperoni salami bacon and mozzarella these were taken to prove such poor quality and presentation. Tofu would taste better and it stands for Tasteless Odorless Flavorless Ohhh ! Which is how our family described this food.
