El Lago Waters Motel in The Entrance

When I was booking this hotel, I saw that it didn’t have a good rating. Still, because of its location, I thought at least it would meet the basic standards. I was wrong.

Honestly, I would have had a better experience camping in a tent.

If you’re looking for a place that is extremely dirty and very noisy, then this is it. The hotel basically has no proper staff—just one cleaner, an elderly lady who is expected to clean all three floors by herself. You can imagine that no matter how hard she works, it’s impossible to keep the place clean.

Reception is only available from 10 AM to 5 PM. After that, you have to call, and no one answers. People do whatever they want there. Kids run around in the hallways, and when you complain to reception, they just say there’s nothing they can do.

There are cockroaches everywhere. The curtains are dirty. In total, maybe three people work there. The whole place feels like a ruin. The vending machine is empty. The restaurant is closed—the restaurant sign is there, but it never opened even once.

Do not trust the photos at all.

I went there with my two kids, including my teenage daughter, and to my surprise, they gave us a room with absolutely no privacy. There was a large Arab family right outside, constantly cooking in the shared area, and barbecue smoke was coming all the way into the bathrooms. Because of the glass door, they could easily look inside with the slightest movement.

When I complained, they lied and said all the rooms were fully booked. But when I checked online and showed them that rooms were available, they said they only had one room left and that they wouldn’t rent it because the glass was broken. When they showed it to me, I said I didn’t mind—as long as we had some privacy and people wouldn’t be staring into the room all the time.

In any case, paying around $195 per night to stay in a place like this is unbelievable. Honestly, you’re better off sleeping in your car—you’ll definitely be the winner.

Disgusting rundown accommodation. Don’t take ground floor room, Peeling wallpaper, bathroom floor tiles cracked, shower floods floor, no toilet paper and broken button, curtains falling off window. Building and rooms require extensive repair. Springs of bed broken. Sliding door did not lock. TV does not turn on.

Exterior also run down- Broken fences, pothole drive, long grass, pool needs repaint

Should have gone camping. Would not recommend.
