Apple Tree Cottage - Hepburn Springs in Daylesford

We paid almost AUD $300 for this room, but the space was very small and did not match the price at all.

The bathroom bathtub drain was rusty, which made it completely unsuitable for taking a bath 🛁. It felt unhygienic and poorly maintained.

In addition, the soundproofing was extremely poor. We could clearly hear heavy footsteps from the floor above, and the noise was so loud it felt like constant bass vibrations from a subwoofer, which seriously affected our rest.

On top of that, customer service was impossible to contact when we needed help.

I’m leaving this review just to let others know that there are much better options available, and you don’t have to stay here.

We really liked the location and facilities of this place, but the only inconvenience was the leaking AC. We informed the management, and they advised us to adjust the temperature to 21°C, but unfortunately, the issue persisted.

To prevent the leak from reaching the fridge, we had to use towels to contain it. In the end, we just decided to turn it off, as it became too stressful to deal with. While we enjoyed our stay overall, this was definitely a frustrating experience that needs to be addressed.

Disliked · Where do I start. Services advertised were not present in apartment. We contacted management and had a brief discussion with no outcomes reached, once we realised a bunch more promised services were not supplied we tried to call management, they didn't get in contact for 20 hours! In that time we called 15 times on four different numbers given. On top of this, photo's were extremely misleading, photo's shown were for updated apartments, not the apartment we were staying in. The kitchenette is in a cupboard that you can't get in to, not kidding, you have to bend around the corner to use the sink. They gave us the wrong network name and password for the WIFI, and once we finally were attended by the manager were told it was our phones network that was the problem? There is no cell reception at this property, so being without internet meant we couldn't book activities and meals, which is necessary on a busy weekend. There was no espresso machine of complementary bottle of wine as advertised. The cutlery was in a box on top of the bar fridge push to the back, under the bench, we couldn't find it and ate our special babymoon breakfast with our hands, and without the coffee advertised. The view is of a tired courtyard of bins, not the tree top views advertised. All of these experiences ruined our babymoon as it took so long to try and work them out, when we approached management they offered us a low value voucher for some more accommodation they own, without apology. From all the good reviews my take away is that it's fine if you get the regular apartments, but if you get the not-updated apartments, management will ignore you instead of taking responsibility. This has been my worst accommodation service experience and I have travelled the world. Steer clear of this place.
