We chose a hotel in the town of Gmunden as a base for trips to the towns of Hallstatt and St. Gilgen, the hotel is located on the edge of a lake (a narrow road separates it from the lake), The hotel is a family hotel and the hotel owner walks around among the guests and knows everyone. The room is large and simple, we got room 21 with a gorgeous view of the lake. The towels have seen better days...

The owner was very kind, and the room condition, restaurant food taste, and service were all the best. Especially, the lake and mountains seen from the room and restaurant were the best experience.

It was really wonderful place! Room was tidy and clean. Also in the room,There is a terrace which you can see a nice lake view. Within the walking distance , there is a small town. Every workers are really kind and nice. Breakfast was really good. I’m satisfied with whole things.

A very nice hotel with a great view. Our double room was huge, with comfortable furnitures. On their home page it said they are doing it for 3 generations now, and it felt like that. Everybody was nice and helpful, everybody had a few kind words for us or for our one year old baby. It was like visiting a family. Definitely recommended.

We only ate here at their restaurant. Mediocre food that is overpriced. Service was good, they spoke English and were kind and attentive. Location is perfect for a lunch in the sun.

A cozy old restaurant with an interesting menu, including a separate children's menu. Everything we tried was very delicious. Beef goulash, Arctic char, homemade salad. For dessert, we had coffee and tiramisu.

While it is not located within the main city area this provides a tranquil and peaceful area to recharge away from the hustle and bustle. Gorgeous setting on Traunsee lake with the 1691m Traunstein as a backdrop... a nice trip suggestion is parking you car at the Gruenberg station, take the cable car up there, walk to Laudachsee (Ramsaualm Huette for a quick stop), head down Kaltenbachwildniss - trail ends at Hoisn (have another stop for coffee or food) and take the boat back to Gmunden! Fantastic day trip!

Amazing place to stay! Peaceful and quiet, right on the lake, private small beach. Excellent restaurant! And very nice staff. Of course their service was wonderful. If we ever take another trip tp Austria, well defiantly go back here.

Stayed two nights in the city view room. The rooms were clean but the set up for the bathroom is strange. The toilet is in one room and the sink and shower in another room. Doesn't quite remind and encourage people to wash their hands after using the restroom with no sink next to the toilet. Odd!! Very old building in the heart of Gmunden on Lake Traunsee.
