Nice hotel, but stay away from their pizza in the restaurant. It’s a cheap industrial made frozen pizza they just heat up. The bread tastes and looks like a piece of cardboard with tasteless cheese on top..

Nobody on reception unless they are ready to take your money. Nowhere to hang up a towel in the bathroom. No coffee or tea in making in the room. TV was unusable. Breakfast was pretty mid, one coffee and they had run out of cereal

The room I was given was on the first floor. There was a factory in front of it, which made a constant buzzing noise day and night. The curtains on the windows did not block out the light, which affected my sleep.

The hotel is very similar to the hotel from a Japanese horror game, very atmospheric, but in the bathroom there are cobwebs and dust in the corners, but otherwise a good night's sleep!

Had a very good stay at the Holiday inn Express. Very close to the main road. Good public transport to the town. The rooms were extremely clean, the breakfast area, lobby was also spotless. The service was great. The breakfast spread was great with a good selection of food. Good parking which is charged per day.

Upon arrival, the welcome was a bit lacking, and I find the parking to be expensive at €19 per night. The bathroom is also a bit small. I'm not sure if I'll return.

We came here with some trepidation as we’d gone to the Holiday inn expo by mistake and we were familiar with that hotel.Thankfully we were pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel is. Nice enough smallish independent hotel. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast OK but nothing to write home about. Building is old so all floorboards creak and you can hear people moving around in rooms next door and above, going to the bathroom etc. On strange observation is the height of the toilet from the ground. Calm and charm Hotel with a lot of charm and friendly staff. Parking at the hotel and easy to drive to is a real plus in a city like Gent where the centre is car free.

I stayed 4 nights here and it was convenient to travel around the main cities of Belgium. The train station is really close and you can go easily to Bruges, Anvers, Brussels, etc.

The room is very clean but size is a bit small. In general, the vibe of the airbnb is cozy. It is good for only stay for 1-2 nights.

It was noisy and the staff were not there most of the time, but other than that it was a great and affordable option to stay.

...but I know for sure that this hotel is average, nothing more. It's clearly been a while, and especially the common areas could use a serious refresh! The room had a nice, large bed, more than decent sheets, and a working bathroom. It's fine for one night. I didn't pay, so I can't comment on the value for money. Or even on the breakfast.

I had a third floor double, with elevator access, but still with 5 stairs, in case that’s a problem. Very basic hotel, but everything works OK, and it was clean with a comfortable bed with thin pillows. Had a cube refrigerator, a little weak. Good location. The hotel is easy to find. 5 min walk from the train station. The reception is polite and helpful. They allow us for early check in. The room is tidy and clean. There's a spacious public area on the ground floor and a coffee machine for us. Transport to the city center is also easy. I love the environment here.

Standard room. Perfectly fine as a cheap and cheerful no frills room for the night. Furniture and fittings had a fair bit of wear and tear but the room was spacious and it's a really convenient location thanks to its proximity to the station. The one downside is the bed: rather than a double it's two singles pushed together which is quite awkward if you want to cuddle up with your partner in the night

The location is very good. There is a Carrefour supermarket nearby. It is very convenient to go to the city.

Hotel is quaint, in a period building with high ceilings and creaky floorboard. Staff were helpful, parking in their garage convenient, and the neighbourhood was quiet. TV didnt work, nor the Bathroom light, but the receptionist fixed the latter and we didn't bother to mention the TV. Main negative was the very bad smell from the drains in the bathroom, and the lack of air con.

Interesting character property that could probably do with a bit of a refresh. The room was a good size, with a comfortable bed. A couple of minor flaws, wiring was visible on the ceiling light, and the window frames had seen better days. I will probably stay elsewhere next time I am in Ghent.

I've spent a couple of days here with my wife and son and the place it's lovely. Large rooms with a nice bathroom. Child friendly. The place is located in a quiet zone of the city and have a lovely view for the outside. It's right in front of the river. We had a wonderful weekend here and can’t recommend it enough. Beautiful property lovingly restored. The owners were perfect hosts and the hotel and gardens are a calming oasis in the middle of town. We will try to visit Ghent again in a quieter time and will definitely head for the B&B The Verhaegen.
