Nina Hotel Causeway Bay in Hong Kong

A great hotel, we spent 3 nights in a Premium Bay View twin room. The service was perfect - everyone from greeting to departure was genuine and helpful.

Lifts were a little on the slow side (we were floor 35) and the rooms were comfortable and clean but in need of modernisation.

The restaurant was excellent- not too busy, nice atmosphere and great service. A little on the expensive side (to be expected) but they catered well to various requests and dietary requirements.

Breakfast is a set menu or à la carte rather than a buffet.

Main issues were a noisy aircon unit in the bedroom, squeaky plumbing - both of which caused a restless night - and an outdated decor in the rooms. Stand-in-bath shower, slippery tile floor (with a warning) and hardwood bedroom floor all made the room feel a bit 1980s.

Really love this hotel. Service is top notch. Rooms are good sized. Not cramped. Location is right opposite Tin Hau station. Walkable to a really cool craft beer bar and good cha chaan tengs. Couldn't ask for more.

Stayed here over the Easter Holidays for a family trip. Location is excellent as the Tin Hau subway station is just across the road, the trams are also right in front (affectionately called Ding Dings) and bus stop is 50m down the road.

There are several good eating places within walking distance, including a very popular sesame ice cream place (near the station entrance) and a lot of bakeries which open early for breakfast.

If you want the best coffee in Hong Kong then the Star Street cafes are only a 10 min ride away in the ding dings, we visited them every morning, several options so try them all.

It is very close to most of the attractions on the island side and the subway get you to those on a few minutes.

Tin Hau is more residential and less busy than some of it's neighbours. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The beds were very good and comfortable, linen and towels were all like new.

We were on the 25th floor, not the very top but rooms were very quite, no real street noise. All windows are double glazed.

We got an extremely good room rates so keep a look out for deals. Would definitely stay here again given the location and good price.

Only real downside is rooms are a bit tired. Nothing major but they have seen better days.

If you can live with that and you get a good room rate I would highly recommend staying here.

Excellent clean room's, the bed was very comfortable. The pool and the gym are small but ok. The location is fantastic with the underground directly opposite . The buses and Ding ding stop outside the hotel. The wifi is very good. The restaurant and coffee shop were both closed. We found plenty of places for food and drinks in the local area.

The location is unbeatable!! MTR, bus, and tram stations right across the street. Plenty of great local eateries all within walking distance. Rooms are clean. Also quite spacious for HK standard. Thoughtful layout and the design of furnishings further maximize utility of the space for both comfort and storage. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

It's a cozy corner of simple great food! Love the shredded chicken dish!

Most Satisfying Daipaidong Meal in Hong Kong on 23Feb2017
we had very exciting & delicious lunch at 民声冰室. excellent dishes all good & 6 dishes for 4 pax for HK$295. 2 friends commented this most the best meal in hong kong. i would say certainly the most satisfying.
民声冰室 was the daipaidong we wanted to come last year but was closed & we ended up having an excellent lunch at its neighbour yue bo 鱼宝食馆 o 12.1.2016. ^^the tiny daipaidong was full. we waited just maybe about 5mins.there is no menu & everything is written on the board at the front of the shop.there were many newspaper cuttings showing the favourite dishes like the salted egg steamed minced pork 咸蛋蒸肉饼，hand tear chicken手撕鸡 etc.for a tiny shop the cooking/preparation area seems quite big. i guess that is a good thing – big, clean space to create nice dishes.the minute we sat down, one lone customer that came after us & sat down after us, ordered the 2 signature dishes – salted egg steamed minced pork 咸蛋蒸肉饼，hand tear chicken手撕鸡! so we did too la! ^^
the salted egg steamed minced pork 咸蛋蒸肉饼was very good. a very simple dish & very easy to make at home, but the effect was very good.the steamed tofu with scallop was nice too.it was quite an ordinary dish & scallops were ok but by the way. the tofu was good – very smooth & sweet..the main stay for this dish as again the “pang” light soy sauce.a friend found the steamed grass carp with mui choy 梅菜蒸浣鱼too salty & he didn’t like it also i think because grass carp has mud taste.in a sense the mui choy 梅菜, and again the good light soy sauce helped to balance/complement the taste. fish has many bones so need to be a bit careful in eating. i pushed away the mui choy 梅菜, and for myself, i enjoyed this fish very much.the poached lettuce i guessed was a nothing-to-it dish. a good-balance vegetable dish & hong kong vegetable always good, so this was good & refreshing too.the char siew fried egg likewise. nothing dish also, a ordinary fuyong egg maybe better actually.anyhow all the dishes were very simple by nature & very well executed, including the lettuce & the egg dishes.the 手撕鸡 hand tear chicken was very impressive.the chicken was sweet, tender ye汤not soft & with good bite, a bit stringy yet not sinewy or chewy. very good i think.
