Hotel San Alejandro in Havana

Terrible place, unpleasant staff, bad service, terrible communication, no food offers of any kind during the night. The room is good, but if the air conditioning works, the TV doesn't work or vice versa. The breakfasts included in the continental plan were not continental at all, insufficient, without quality and without presentation, and also an expensive offer. If you do not request dinner or lunch in advance, you cannot have lunch or dinner. In the folder they make you checkout before leaving the hotel. Very bad hotel, for me without stars. It's a shame, a place with phenomenal architecture and such bad service.

We booked a combined tour of two nights in Havana Islazul San Alejandro 3* and 10 in Varadero Allegro Palma Real 4* from the tour operator FUN&SUN. They brought us to the hotel by private transfer at 6:00, it was closed. We knocked and it was opened in about 15 minutes. Having read in advance that check-in at hotels in Cuba occurs at 16:00, we were ready to leave our things and take a walk. They showed us a check-in voucher at the reception, but they didn’t understand what it was. They suggested that we wait outside for our transfer with our things. Somehow we explained to them that we were guests of their hotel and wanted to leave our things before check-in. They wrote us $50 on a piece of paper for early check-in or leaving things behind. Somehow they left things and gave Alyonka a large chocolate bar. We went for a walk... when we returned we were immediately checked in. We are unpretentious tourists - the room is very weak .. We had ice water in the shower, we went to the reception for help .. Then we just laughed: a girl came and turned on the hot water tap and sat down to wait for the hot water to come .. without waiting, she called the second one. With an important look, she extended her hand under the cold water and held it for a while. She explained that it was cold outside, that’s why the water was cold. We resigned ourselves to this and went to bed. In the morning, a surprise buffet breakfast awaited us)) When we arrived, it didn’t even smell like a buffet. We ask how we can have breakfast. They brought us 2 triangles of dry bread with a beautifully placed drop of butter between them. I asked for tea or coffee.. the waiter replied that they didn’t have anything like that. He brought tap water with ice and poured something that looked like yogurt into our tea cup. Leaving the restaurant, we got some boiling water and had breakfast with our own supplies. Islazul San Alejandro 3* The location is not convenient, there is no service, the rooms are old, there is no breakfast.. Yes, I forgot to say on the second day at breakfast (breakfast was the same), I again asked for tea or coffee. And cups of tea bags were solemnly brought to our table, they said that Russian tourists are very picky)) Other tables looked at us with envy))))
