Mauad Hotel Boutique in Santo Domingo

We stayed two nights at Mauad Hotel with my family and had the best time. Everything was perfect. The staff was incredibly kind and gave us such a warm welcome. Our room had a wonderful sea view, the breakfast was amazing, and the rooftop was beautiful.
We honestly didn’t want to leave — we felt so good in this hotel! We will definitely come back again.

Real stunning view to the ocean. Nice spacious rooms and a good breakfast included. But not quiet: Noise from the street and noise also from the nightclub. Can’t recommend the 12th floor. The noise from the breakfast in the morning is significant.

I ended up staying at Hotel Maewald during a really stressful situation. My passport was stolen in Punta Cana and I had to go to Santo Domingo to visit the embassy. It wasn’t exactly a planned trip, but I’m genuinely grateful I chose this hotel.

The property is modern, new, and very stylish. It’s located in an area that’s clearly developing fast, yet it’s still very convenient and easy to get around from there. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing, the breakfast was solid and enjoyable, and there’s even a nightclub inside the hotel. It’s a great space and it just deserves to be busier!

What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was welcoming and professional, but I especially want to thank Laura Vargas. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and supportive. In a moment where I felt stressed and overwhelmed, having someone like her there made a huge difference.

The rooms are modern and aesthetically pleasing. You feel like they were designed by an architect. A few details could be improved: pillar in the middle of the room which blocks the view, sink that was way too small, shower which doesn't drain the water well and you end up with water all over the bathroom.

When we arrived, we were welcomed with coconut water and beers!

BE CAREFUL: the hotel has a nightclub on the ground floor which is poorly sound insulated. It is not open every night. During our stay, the nightclub was only open once. We were staying at the 10th floor and could still feel the bass and slightly hear the music. We were very tired so it was ok, but if you're here for a business trip or staying at a low floor, you're going to have a TERRIBLE night!

The rooftop is great for sunsets and by night. Wonderful views on the sea and the city. Great cocktails at the bar.

The breakfast was very disappointing honestly. It needs to be improved.

The swimming pool is small and mostly for decoration honestly.

This is obviously not a 5 stars hotel, neither a 4 stars but instead a great 3 stars hotel. It's perfect for a business trip or a short stay to visit the city.

The staff was tremendous very helpful, the rooftop is beautiful also gives you a great view of the ocean.

We booked for a week. The hotel is very nice and new, the staff is exceptional, extremely friendly and bilingual. Ask for an upgrade, we got a free ocean view upgrade simply by asking. If they have extra rooms they are quite accommodating. It’s a new hotel, so there are minor issues such as no room service menu, or no directory in the room. Limited nightstand space. They have large nice TVs, and the bathrooms/showers are large. The safes in the room are not secured down, so I wouldn’t store your rolex in them, but ok for basic stuff. As far as options in Santo Domingo, this is going to be the best bang for the buck in terms of modern, full service resort style hotels in this price range. We will stay again.

This is one of the best Hotel I've been to in Santo Domingo. Friendly Staff and most important very Clean. I would definitely go back again.
