Where to stay in Espoo

This is a modern and comfortable hotel, where we slept peacefully and without disturbance. Restaurants and other retail facilities are not close by but the Fat Lizard brewery pub a short walk away is a big plus. The metro is anyhow not far, which of course gives you the possibility to get to Helsinki or other retail centres.

breakfast is great and the location is great

Very close and convenient for business about Aalto University. Staff are warm-hearted.

Largest bed in europe I have ever slept, best receptionists I have ever encountered in europe and great location, with free coffee and tea included in the price! Especially if you are coming with a car do not bother yourself with staying in city center, 10 minutes to the center by car and close to the nature.

Nice, clean, modern, with a big lounge and cool common 'kitchen'. Very kind and service -minded staff, deserve more than 5 stars. Perfect hotel as a budget but modern comfortable alternative hotel.

Great value for money in Helsinki. POS instructions durong check-in need to be in the cardholder language, not just Finnish. Staff excellent..You need a bigger coffee machine that doesn't need constantly refilling by staff who are already serving clients on reception

We spent a wonderful stay there, the restaurant was fine and reasonable price

It was a cold room, the heating system was really old and inefficient.

One of the ugliest hotels I’ve been to. The surrounding area is lush, however the outside of the hotel looks like a bunker. Rooms are ok, staff is friendly. Food is good.

We had an amazing trip in the hotel! The quality of food, the closest to the nature, the service are amazing. I think it is also kid friendly place, the friends who recommend us this hotel has been going back, we love our stay 🥰

The surrounding is amazing - forest and lakes behind the hotel. A lot of activities available - tracking, swimming, sauna etc.

Great location, good breakfast, good sauna and swimming in the lake.

Very nice and quiet place. Beds are very soft. Possibility open window.

Great location by the ocean and hiking trails. Close proximity to public transportation a big plus too!

Very nice hotel, the rooms the breakfast the facilities and the service are all amazing. The only downside to this hotel is the location. It is around a 30 minute metro to Helsinki and to get into espoo you have to take a tram for 11 stops and then get on a bus for 3 which makes it quite complex to find the location on arrival. But overall very good hotel!

Great location next to campus & good spot to work from. I went for a run in the area and it was a beautiful part of the archipelago. Breakfast was wonderful as usual with made-to-order omelette and a wide selection of breakfast foods. The staff was very friendly & helpful.

The room is clean and tidy, the hotel breakfast is rich, the lake is beautiful nearby, and there are many safe places to eat around.

Quite dated hotel on walking distance from the Espoo business area. The hotel is in need of renovation, but still a fairly solid choice for the business traveller. Good selection of food in the restaurant and good service overall. Breakfast was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. Fair price, but still I would opt for something more modern given the choice.

Location was excellent with metro and huge shopping mall. Hotel also had a nice sauna. Breakfast was good. Service was "cold". Very little talk, quiet, no smiles. Rooms were new but cleaning services were " so-so". However maybe the best one around that area.

I stayed here for 6 nights the hotel facilities were amazing the staff were kind and helpful the breakfast buffet was simple but delicious I loved it’s location just a few steps away from the bus, netro station and the mall

5* My room was generously proportioned, well designed and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very reasonable. The location was great. I would happily return

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **5/5 – Exceptional Stay at Hotel Matts Helsinki** Hotel Matts Helsinki delivered a fantastic experience from start to finish. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming—every staff member I interacted with went out of their way to help and make the stay smooth and enjoyable. A major highlight was the convenience of using the room key card for access to the nearby Elixia...

Loved the location which is just next to a shopping mall and train station. We loved the space available for the family - complete facilities with kitchen, washing machine and dryer, balcony with a view.

Hotel locates just next to the metro station , it's very convenience! Good breakfast with many choices!

Clean room and friendly staff. Great location just next the a transport hub and a mall.

Great hotel, helpfull service, nice breakfast; compact but good, rooms can use an update but are still very comfortable. Shopping mall nextdoor and plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Great room and location, varied breakfast and lovely attentive reception team

Good location next to Sello shopping mall. Nice and clean. Quite hard beds. Good breakfast.

A bit worn out and tired for the price, not especially clean either.

The room was spacious and so quiet for sleeping

My favorite hotel in Helsinki. A hotel located in a beautiful natural location, on the seashore whwere meet high level hospitality, Nordic design, art and cusine .

Great hotel! We stayed here a while ago, it was very cozy. Beautiful rooms designed in 70s style, clean and comfy, very cozy interior, amazing breakfast with multiple options. Water in the indoor swimming pool was a bit chilly, but otherwise both sauna and pool area were clean and well maintained. We’ll gladly come back one day. Recently we just visited the area, very beautiful surroundings in the...

Varma valinta, jos haluat upeat puitteet, hyvän ruoan ja huippu palvelun. Vahva suositus!

The hotel is a piece of art in itself! What an architectural gem. Restaurant is good. Not too much choice but quality is there. The parc around is super peaceful and the deck to go in the sea after Sauna is amazing. Pool and sauna have limited hours (morning and evening) so carrefour with children. Also a bit isolated. Without a car you won’t do anything around.

Nice location on a tranquil island Nice location on a tranquil island. If you use Bolt, you can get to city center for around 10 Euros. Or you can enjoy the small island Hanaholmen. They have spa and you can swim in the sea or in their pool. Many rooms view sea view

Stayed with my family for a few days during our vacation. Generally had a great time. First about the pros: *) location is amazing - the views are picturesque and it’s very convenient to get around by car, bike, public transport and even on foot *) the hotel itself shows it’s timeless design - looks great in every detail - both with respect to rooms, common spaces and all facilities. Details like moomin...

Our usual family weekend in Helsinki. Tapiola has great access to metro and friends near too. Car parking in underground is recommended, old gate system has finally removed. Breakfast was usual Sokos hotels style. We did not try restaurant this time. I run internet speed test, some rooms might have limited coverage of wifi. Kids extra bed was easy to request and room was not too fully pact. We slept...

I stayed here a while ago and loved my experience. A great location near to metro stops, bus routes, shopping center, and relevant for me Aalto University. The restaurant was excellent, staff very courtesies and professional, and rooms were more than adequate for me and my needs. All in all a great stay and hope to return to Helsinki one day and would happier stay here again.

Not sure why this hotel has 4 stars. From my point of view this is firm 3 stars hotel. It's relatively clean but facilities are broken. For example, bidet in the room's bathroom doesn't work at all. Probably they decide to preserve water this way. Most remarkable thing in the room is huge but empty minibar! They say that minibars available "only in the superior rooms". Then why they are shining their...

Best possible hotel location if you need accommodation in the Espoo area. Next to the big shopping mall Ainoa, close to transportation (metro, bus station, taxi station), close to nature for execise and several good dining options.

Nice and cosy hotel. Friendly staff, quiet, tidy and well cooled rooms. Excellent sauna and nice little pool. Easy to reach Helsinki city center by metro. Just next to brand new shopping center.

Property was clean, no issues at all. Some construction works are ongoing at the rear of the hotel which I did not know about. That started about 7am so might be early for other guests. Small fitness room was adequate. Food choice in hotel wasn't to my taste but that's not negative review of the restuarant in anyway - but there is a shopping mall less than 2 minutes walk with plenty of food choices...

Lovely location, very nice breakfast, also enjoyed very much the nearby frisbeegolf course (separate 6 euro charge which was ok). Spa rather small, but that was ok for us. Rooms were ok, though really lacked air conditioning.

A sunny day with the child Breakfast was great, quality pastries, good coffee. The area was wonderfully peaceful, we also went to Myllyjärvi a short distance away. We were missing peace and sun and it was guaranteed. Next time two nights so we can walk even a longer trip to swim. The child especially liked the indoor pool.

Stopped by for a lunch on home office day. Lunch buffe was good, the terrace was nice as well as the surroundings altogether.

I didn't know when I booked that this is exactly what I needed to restore my weary soul. A chilled dose of rural beauty near the lake with lush forest all around. And a steam sauna that's complimentary to guests. Dinner was simple but absolutely tasty. Breakfast is a grand buffet spread with many healthy options. I will return!

Short distance from Helsinki, rural, quiet and peaceful. Large room. The only remark is that you could have sanded - everything was frosty due to thawing weather and refreezing. This was my second stay and I will definitely be back next time. Pet friendly!

Nice small and quiet place. No traffic jams or crowds anywhere.

Rauhallinen ja edullinen hotelli luonnon keskellä

We arrived here to do some hicking. This hotel is near the Nuuksio park and well situated to do some nice walks. We were at the end of the season and diner options were small. The room was oke but we had to take care for getting clean towels. There is a very nice swimming pool.

the hotel is very nicely located in the peace and quiet of nature. there is a little lake nearby and it’s a good starting point for hikes. Though the hotel has a bit the vibes of a youth hostel we liked staying there with four adults.

Bice budget hotel with really nice environment We had a nice 1 night stay at the hotel. Hotel is not a 5 star one so do not expect that but it is good value for the price, It was so nice to lay down next to the pier/beach and relax. Water was also really warm. Breakfast was basic and okay. Some suggestions. The lawn next to water is full of duck poop. Poops are the same size a cat would make. Those...

Overall: 2km from bus 244. Outsides of hotel there are lake, hiking trials, grill, outdoor seatings. Mushroom is easy to pick. Quiet and tranquil environment. Good gym at basement with ping pong table. Accommodation: Basic and old room, no kettle. Bed and pillow are really soft, blanket is thin. Air conditioner works oddly but ok. Notice on the WC door says you have to close the door while showering...

Amazing hotel! So delicious food and good service👍

Good budget stay. Staff are cordial. The rooms are clean and are out varied sizes. Good choices for long stays. It has a kitchenette. Very helpful for people with l who prefer own cooked food than restaurants for daily or for dietary needs. Good hotel in Espoo.

Default hotel whenever visiting Helsinki - no need to stay in city center when I can get an entire private flat with excellent pubilic transport connection in Leppävaara. The Sello shopping center nearby is also excellent. Very cozy, friendly and quiet hotel - good for any length visits.

It's good. Not a big deal tho, but it's prefect for short stayings in Leppävaara, such as friends or relatives visiting during the Erasmus exchange.

Good location Value for money Breakfast & WiFi facility 12 min walk to Leppavaran station & near by shopping malls

Nice hotel with Suite-like. Each room has a kitchen. Wi-Fi works well. Just be prepared for clean up once a week and trash you have to pack themselves in the trash. It is a feature of the property. The hotel is located 10 minutes from the station. And there is only 20 minutes and you're in the center of Helsinki. Near the station a large shopping center. If you need to buy, all major players are...

It is typical "better than average apartment", so you are expected to stay there weeks-months, with mini kitchen, possibility to eat downstairs (incl. breakfast, depends on the deal) and without calls "is everything OK with your room". Then the minimum service provided leads to minimum limits: eat at your room, take groceries in, etc. ; that said the place is really quiet and good for families / willing...

Me and my mom needed an apartment to be able to visit family member who was in hospital. We needed a kitchen and a washing machine. The room had both and no problem with those. I suspected kitchen knife would be dull and it was, but I brought a knife sharpener and got it sharp. Otherwise everything in kitchen was okay but stove wasn't that powerful. The building's main door's lock wasn't functioning...

Nice room easy access very large and well equipped

Check-out klo 11, mutta klo 8.38 siivooja herättää koputtamalla oveen. Avaa sitten oven ja näköyhteyden huoneeseen nähdäkseen, onko siellä enää ketään.

Fantastic overall . Thank you team

Good price for volue Good condition. Everything fine

The cleanliness of the place was not good.

Didn't pre-send instructions. Bathroom is publicly-used. Otherwise is ok.

Modest and decent space to stay in casual/business needs when you just need to sleep with low budget. Bring your own grub and drinks, there are no kiosks or shops nearby but fridge in the room and kitchen available. All Day Breakfast etc. can be found at the Heymo hotel nearby. B-building is well hidden, hope they put some signs over there. And do not expect any frills :-) .

It was very near to the organization that I joined a program. Staff was very helpful. Place was clean and comfortable.

There is a subway station downstairs and the Papillon Cinema is next door. Alexanderplatz is close to the airport line, and it takes 40 minutes to get to the airport. The bed in the room is quite big The corridor is a bit dirty There is a single bathroom The bar can be a bit noisy at night Service: Not bad

Just functioning well. Location is ok. Condition is so so, but had everything you would need

Everything was good except the washroom door lock needing replacement/repair and it was not done during my stay despite the note stuck to the door saying DoNot Use The Washroom. Further, there was no other option provided for the customers.
