Hotel la Diligence in Honfleur

I loved the character of this hotel and overall feel of our stay here! The rooms are ADORABLE and have so much personality.
We booked two rooms under one of the sets of stairs and personally had no issues with noise from people traversing up and down to get to their upper rooms.
The reception service is superb and the location is perfect in every way; across the street from a grocery store and self serve washer & dryer (next to the grocer), down the road from a pharmacy and a couple of restaurants, and roughly a ten minute walk from the downtown area where the port and rest of the restaurants and shops are!

Parking is limited inside the gate, but overnight parking nearby (either out front or down the way) from 8pm to 8am is free.

My only concerns worth mentioning were 2 things:
▪︎ the rooms had heaters, but no air con (not atypical for France. However, some hotels fit mini ones to their rooms and other travelers might want to be aware). Our party of four had mixed experiences with this. 2/4 felt warm with two people sleeping in the rooms without a window open even with 8-10°C (46-50°F) temperatures outside. Wearing lighter clothing helped a lot for the 2nd night.
▪︎ the lights in the courtyard are motion activated, which is nice when walking to your room at night and the individual lights in front of the doors come on. However, it's not quite as nice when the flood lights are also activated at the same time and the curtains aren't light blocking 😅

Over all, such a great experience and would love to come again!

Good comfortable hotel well located in town and easy access to a supermarket across the street and easy walk anywhere in town

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. When my father accidentally left his jacket in the room, the hotel quickly arranged its return, which arrived safely. The service and care were exceptional. We highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again!

Very well located for the price. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy with very large bathrooms. We did not include breakfast but the staff was very friendly and helpful. We do not speak French but had no communication issues. There is parking on site for a reasonable fee but there is also a free parking lot available nearby

Very clean and despite being close to the harbour it was very quiet and peaceful. A great restaurant caked “Sauvage” 2 doors down with exquisite food. The old carpets in the rooms could do with being removed and updated with vinyl flooring. That was the only issue, we enjoyed our stay here.

Perfect location for a stop over to or from Le Havre. Wonderful staff. Arrive early for secure parking. Great breakfast and close to the best Honfleur has to offer.
