We had a very smooth check-in and check-out experience and booked a room with river view, which was a good choice. The room was simple and clean, nothing fancy, but enough. The breakfast area looked modern and light and the breakfast itself was good, could have had a bit more plant-based / vegan options, but it did have oat milk which we very much appreciated. Clean, modern style, well-decorated hotel. Very competitively priced. Dog friendly. Nice staff.

Overall it was a very nice clean hotel, staff friendly and efficient. Only one criticism was that the pillows were too soft.

Excellent stay at this perfectly located Hotel with free parking spaces nearby. The staff was extremely welcoming efficient and friendly with special thanks to Elena, who did our rooms in the morning. Her huge smile and friendly manner were a great start to our days!! Very good breakfast with a very good variety of food on offer. I would just mention one thing... the rooms were too hot to our liking...

We enjoyed our stay at Le Maxime. The hotel was easy to find, the staff was welcoming and pleasant to chat with. The path along the River, just across the street, is excellent for running walking and biking. We would definitely return to this property.

Overall we had a lovely stay here but guests should know that the “river view” is blocked by trees in the summer, so it’s not worth paying extra for that! Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable. Room was a bit dark and needs new carpet. Close to old town and an easy walk from the train station so it was a good location for us. Enjoyed many walks along the river.

The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly during our entire stay. Their recommendations for restaurants were spot on. Agathe, Camille and Anais made us feel at home at all times. The room was clean. Breakfast was very good too. Can’t complain.

Had been a rough day with our rental car breaking down. Grateful the front desk staff ( Cami and Agatha) spoke English and were so helpful. Would definitely return!

Lovely friendly staff run a quaint hotel at very reasonable cost. Can easily walk into the old town of Auxerre which is like a dream. If we come to the area again we will stay here.

We are really happy with the accommodation provided. Élégant room decor from the Napoléon era period. We got a welcoming arrival by the reception and was so helpful in an issue I had which has been resolved prompt. Used the hotel pool in their garden area. Enjoyed a great breakfast too. Strong WiFi signal and free parking. We have a memorable stay.

This is a charming hotel which has been acquired fairly recently by the owners on which they are clearly working very hard to make a perfect place to stay. Free on site parking is a real bonus. Our room had been recently decorated. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower. Super aircon too! We even had a few english television channels! In reception, there is a water dispenser where you can fill...

If six stars were available , I would happily give that rating! This lovely mansion has been transformed into an elegant hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with great amenities. Fantastic Philippe and his wife have just taken this over, a fantastic host, service superb, currently undertaking renovations but still a beautiful property. Would definitely stay again. We wish Philippe all the success in the world.

All good and extremely good value. Restaurant next door ,super evening meal,again great value. Well worth considering if you are in this area. Lots of other eateries within walking distance as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay here as part of a road trip. Conveniently located to access of the highway this hotel has everything you would expect from a 3 star hotel. Rooms were spacious and well kept, only little annoyance was accessing the 5th floor (by stairs only from the 4th) but I’m sure this is something that will be solved with the upcoming renovation. Obviously the management had never tried living in the modernised room. Steps up from the front door. Stairs turned a part circle so some steps very narrow which made it difficult to carry suitcases up to first floor. The shower was at the end of a bath with a sloping slippery bottom. Good Auxerre Hotel Nice hotel in a good location for the town. Reception staff were good and friendly. Car parking was good but should be reserved. We were on the top floor and had two single beds instead of a double as we would have preferred.

Auxerre is a relatively quiet and comfortable small French town. There are virtually no white people; most people speak French, which gives it a unique character. Hotel prices aren't cheap, and the rooms are small. There's a bus stop right outside, making transportation convenient. There are also hiking and cycling trails along the Ionne River.

We (2 persons) stayed here twice in 3 weeks. We enjoyed the welcome, the efficient and friendly staff and the location of the hotel - walking distance to the town center - but also quiet and peaceful - especially the rooms to the inside.

This is a family owned Bed and Breakfast property in a narrow street within the historic centre of Auxerre. The rooms are comfortable and full of character. Jerome is a delightful and attentive host. We enjoyed a good continental breakfast. We had a lovely stroll around the historic centre of the City in which there were plenty of attractive restaurants to choose from. This hotel was truly beautiful. We were warmly welcomed by Jerome, the owner and shown to our room that was incredibly beautiful, with a large very comfortable bed in the corner of an old fashioned beamed room with vaulted ceiling and Felix window to keep it cool and fresh. Spacious bathroom and all things supplied. Breakfast was fresh and the jams homemade and delicious. Highly recommend...

We really enjoyed staying at Le Relais. It's in a very convenient location, right in the lovely old town area. The building is beautiful and appealingly furnished, and our room was quite comfortable. The homemade breakfast was excellent, and Jerome is an extraordinarily gracious and thoughtful host, Highly recommended.

+ fantastic B&B very close to the center of Auxerre (well, practically you are in the center of Auxerre) + great rooms, the ones at the top floor have great volumes and exposed wooden structure + delicious breakfast + the owner was very nice, always available and always smiling

We can't praise this little relais too highly. It is an absolute gem; thoughtfully furnished and immaculately kept. Our room was right at the top of the ancient house and we slept in a large and comfortable bed with the great timbers of the original roof above our heads.
