Beautiful building. Quiet room (can hear the train sometimes, but I don’t think through the night). Room a mix of old style with modern upgrades like windows and new bath and carpet, makes it feel cozy. Very nice restaurant and great breakfast with lots of choice. Easy parking on site.

I have never slept so well in a long time. And the porridge they serve for breakfast is incredible.

On the plus side the staff were helpful and the restaurant served good food at a reasonable price. Unfortunately the hotel lacked atmosphere and one suspects is mostly used by people on business. The restaurant was busy, a good refection of local support rather than relying on hotel guests. Reasonably priced dishes which the chef was happy to tweak to meet customer’s requests. Had a great overnight stay en route to Italy. Friendly staff, diner was really nice, our suite was excellent and breakfast was good. We booked a family room, but we're upgraded to two rooms. Highly recommended 😃

The staff was hospitable and kind. We paid in advance for breakfast to be included and it was nice, but options were limited. Be prepared to pack lightly because there are no elevators on the property, so you will have to carry your baggage up the steep stairs. We have to say that hotel room maybe is not the most fresh, but it was clean ans spacious. A terrace was also a plus on sunny day and view was quite relaxing. Markushof is a house rather for elderly people, as one would expect in a village famous for it's bath and health infrastructure.
