Kurhotel Markushof in Bad Bellingen

The worst possible service I have gotten in my life. We first got seated and waited 15min for the menus. When we were placing our order, we told our server we wanted fish and it would've been nice if she told us the dish was raw before taking our order. When the dish arrived and we told her that's not what we were expecting as it was raw and if something can be done, she yelled at us and told us not to order if you don't know what it is. Isn't it kind of your job to help us with that? Anyway, she then took out dishes back without telling us what she would do with them. We waited another 15min before asking another server what is going on since our server ignored us. Another dish of cooked fished arrived 10min later, something we did NOT ordered. When we asked her what it was, she LIED to our faces and said we ordered it. We can't even read the menu (which by the way was all in German, so much for being a tourist town) nevermind being able to order the dish she gave us! And just so you know, the dish she forced us to have was 4 euro per dish greater than what we originally ordered, how convenient. The customer service at this restaurant is appalling and I would not recommend anyone to have a meal there. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant.

We entered the place at around 20:00 - there was a young waitress standing behind the counter, asking rudely what we wanted. We requested a table for two (the place was half empty), she replied that she didn’t know and we needed to wait for her supervisor (why having incompetent staff with poor manners greeting guests?).

After what felt like 10 min, the head waitress eventually showed up, also harshly asked what we wanted and lead us to a free table. Sheesh.

Food was not too bad, but also not spectacular, given that they brand Markushof as a high-end place.

Throughout our stay, the waitress acted very cold and hostile, interestingly she was very sweet to the other table, where a couple of senior people had dinner. We were less lucky, she banged down plates and janked around chairs.

There was a supervisor/maitre, who asked how the food was and offered free Schnaps to the other tables but not to us.

Prices were below average, felt slightly to high for the quality and taste of the food and especially given the poor service.

Won’t visit this one again.
