Best Western Hotel Heide in Oldenburg

Our hotel reservation in Oldenburg was completely straightforward. A quick phone call was all it took, and the credit card payment was processed directly over the phone. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely suite, perfect for our family of two adults and two children. The room layout was well-designed and ensured a relaxed atmosphere. As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is showing its age. The overall style is somewhat dated, and the small elevator fits the picture – however, we always felt safe, which is why we don't quite understand some of the critical reviews. The staff was very friendly and polite from the moment we arrived. We also used the hotel pool, which, while small, was pleasantly warm. The chlorine level was quite high, which was noticeable – but the children still enjoyed it nonetheless. We had reserved a table for dinner as a precaution, but in retrospect, this wasn't really necessary as the restaurant was quiet. We would particularly like to commend the very friendly waiter, a young man, who was also exceptionally kind to the children. My wife's vegan lentil curry was delicious. However, the wait times for food and drinks were a bit long, which might indicate that the server was also helping out in the kitchen. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and regularly replenished – a lovely start to the day. We also appreciated the free parking spaces right at the hotel. If there are no spaces available, however, you have to use a paid parking garage. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. Nevertheless, there's room for improvement in terms of price and food. Despite the hotel's visible signs of age, we had a good time as a family – but some modernization would definitely benefit the building.
