Unfortunately we were a little disappointed by Gut Funkenhof, the pictures promise more than reality offers. It's run down, they've tried to spruce it up a bit in a minimalist way. I stayed at this hotel last year. Overall, it was okay, for the money you pay, don't expect too much. It doesn't belong to the category of establishments I would rate with 4 or 5 stars. The food is okay. As for the staff, you might be used to a cold attitude, but for me, it was fine. I can't say they were overly friendly or accommodating. Amazing hotel and experience. The spa is beautiful and very clean with great views over the lake. Hotel service was very professional and they were able to cater food for my gluten free & nut allergy requests. Only thing in my opinion that let the room down slightly was the aircon not working, tv was difficult to work and pillows were not great, however still a top stay!!

We were touring through Germany and came across the Landgasthof Kleiner, a very pleasant, clean and friendly Hotel in Stockum. The food was good and easy parking outside the Hotel. We managed to fit a it of walking on some of the local trails adjacent to the Hotel as well. Well worth a visit and hopefully we will return again in the future.

We were invited to a birthday party and stayed overnight at the house. The welcome was very friendly, as was the service throughout the evening. The menu was very interesting. We were here as part of the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route. After conquering the climb, we were able to park our bikes in the on-site garage. We were also allowed to charge them there. Once we warmed up to the staff, the evening went wonderfully! We had a great time with the owner's son, had a lot of fun, and received excellent service. All in all, a fantastic stay – I highly recommend it.

I celebrated my birthday there with my family. The staff and Mrs. Hoffmann were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and all requests were accommodated. Was in town for work in Veltins. Nice walking distance to the brewery and an amazing family run hotel with pub and food! Frequent visits with the locals here and the food was superb! The owners were some of the nicest people I met in Germany and if I am ever back in town I will for sure make my way out to say hello again!

This hotel is very beautiful, but food is very limited with little variety. The breakfast was just different types of granola, eggs, lunch meat, and rolls! No toast or pastries which was very odd. Very friendly staff, they did everything to make our stay memorable. We travelled with two dogs, and they were really kind to them too. Excellent food in the restaurant that really exceeded our expectations. Vegetarian and even vegan options, which is not a given in Germany. Relativ großes Hotel. Ich war in etwa 4 unterschiedlichen Zimmern. Alles soweit sauber und gepflegt. Zimmereinrichtung und Bad würde ich mal auf Mitte/Ende 80er Jahre schätzen. Fernseher klein, teilweise noch Röhre. Restaurant und Frühstück gut. WLAN kostenlos aber von wechselhafter Qualität. Die Zimmer hatten alle einen kleinen Schreibtisch mit Steckdose.

Appropriate price-performance ratio. Tidy rooms, clean and all in all okay. Parking spaces can become scarce. Breakfast is sufficient. Pizzeria across the street and a pleasant place with good cuisine next to the hotel.

I stayed here for one night last weekend with a group of 6 men on a bicycle tour. For our purpose this was exactly the right place. Self-check-in, late arrival, secure bike garage and a good breakfast buffet deserve a good review. One problem with one of our 3 rooms was dealt with in a professional manner, even so there was no staff on site. Overall good value for the money!

The half-timbered hotel conveys a beautiful atmosphere from the very first glance. There are enough parking spaces. The staff is nice and accommodating. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is very generous. The restaurant has a cozy ambience and the food is recommended. The garden also gives a feeling of calm and relaxation. We felt very comfortable there on our short vacation.

My wife and I had the pleasure to be a guest in Landhotel Hütter halfway January 2016 for 2 nights. The whole picture was right: from the swift check-in, the information of the nearby hiking paths as well as the room, the dinner etc. Perfect price / quality ratio and highly recommended if you want a decently priced hotel room at about 40 mins from Winterberg. We'll be back!

Hotel and dining room are definitely to be recommended. The hotel is very modern, there is a terrace for each room with a view of the open meadow. The bathrooms are modern and comfortable. The dining room has good food at reasonable prices. I will definitely come back when the opportunity arises.

The breakfast was gigantic. In the breakfast room there is a freezer with excellent cold cuts. My first impression was that it was a farm shop. But no, it wasn't like that. These cold cuts are for the guests. The nice hosts cut as much of each variety as you want (there was also real Parma ham). We were extremely impressed by this generosity and friendliness and will definitely be back. Many Thanks

But during our visit early this October, the dam is under renovation, so what was supposed to be “lake view room” just became a room with a drained water view. When we arrived we got welcomed really nice and had a super polite staff member handing us the keys maximum 15 seconds later. The Wifi was very good aswell and the breakfast got refilled very constantly. All in one can I say that I would come back if I am close to the Hotel again.

Good rooms, a bit outdated hotel. Excellent breakfasts, good choice, everything is tasty and fresh. But be careful, their garage cameras do not record video, they only show in real time. If you have an incident, they will not be able to help you, as they did not help us.

The employees are super nice and the restaurant is good. But the room itself didn't look like the one I reserved from the website. And wasn't clean. There was insects on the bed. The liquid soap and shower gel they use come in containers you have to squeeze and there were visible fingerprints on them. In a hotel they should use contact less automatic dispensers. The tissue box was more than half empty...

The hotel is located in the centre of the city, the bus stop is nearby. The restaurant was great, especially staffs, very kind and attentive people! We were in this hoter for about 2 weeks with a group of children. Everything was fine, except of my room, because it doesn’t have a view from the window, just the wall, it’s awful, it was too dark and it’s really important for me to have a beautiful view...

Although this hotel needs an update, I still think it deserves 4 stars. Mainly because of the excellent service and friendly staff. Breakfast was also great! The first night, I had problems sleeping because of the thin pillow. I didn't complain, but was surprised to find extra pillows on the bed the next day. There were free earplugs as well, maybe because next to the hotel there are major building...
