Galatis Beach Hotel in Aliki

We visited the hotel a few days ago and unfortunately we left the place disappointed, a lot actually...
While the hotel is placed in a good position allowing fast transportation to Paros chora (Paroikia) and Antiparos (from Punta port), the discomfort in the hotel was a matter.
First of all, we encountered disgusting smashed bugs against the walls, uncleaned towels and a discomfort smell coming through the bathroom drain. in addition, we found out that the bed was not cleaned at all and even found slimes and dust onto it.
Meanwhile, the personnel did not clean the towels during our stay and the woman in reception was merely rude demanding us to pay in cash for their taxes and follow specific rules, while it was just them not following the simplest rules of hygiene.
Below you can see the discuss I am describing in the attached photos. This not only a warning to the next customers but also to the hotel's personnel as well, as they must take care of all these problems as fast as possible.

Location is good, attached restaurant is okay, but breakfast is very lacking. Worst part is the rooms… they are disgusting. There was mold all over our shower as well as mold along the bottom of the wall outside the bathroom. My wife and I also woke up with dozens of bug bites all over our legs.

I will start from a good things:
Location - is great, you have a beach at the front of the hotel which at first doesn’t look great but in a moment you will get to the water you appreciate it.
10min walk to the restaurants and shops, 1min walk to the bus station.
Service - Laura 💜 you were like shining star, always so kind and happy, extremely helpful. I felt like you are my close friend from the first day 🙏🏻 the rest of the people were kind and trying to be helpful but sometimes there was a language barrier or simply they didn’t know what to do.
Rooms: always clean sheets and towels 🙏🏻
Drinks: the best and cheap fresh orange juices 💜

Things that need improvement/are horrible:
Rooms: I think we got the worst room in a whole hotel - first and foremost all room are VERY small, even for two people it is hard to move around when you have suitcases with your things, it’s hard find one place for your things bc you constantly have to move them around bc there is no space!
The worst thing is though lack of water when you want to take a shower - yes, you’ve heard me right. Everyone in a hotel has the same issue no water in a morning sometimes in the early evening. First day I had to run to the shower next to the swimming pool to remove the shampoo from my head. Even though it is not 4* hotel this is a bare minimum which should work!!!
Beach towels - you have to pay 5€ as a holding deposit for towels which will be returned to you BUT what’s terrible are there towels! They are small, old, not absorbing water at all..again bare minimum yet disappointing

Overall - if you have to stay for a night or two I think it’s ok. But not for any longer than that.

Very beautiful sea view, beach at the foot of the hotel! Very nice terrace to have a drink. Pleasant sea view restaurant room. Room quite large and clean. On the other hand, bathroom is almost unsanitary, cleanliness leaves something to be desired, needs to be renovated. Half board to avoid! Breakfast is ok except coffee and orange juice... for the evening, buffet the first time and although there wasn't much choice, you could eat whatever you wanted. Then, given the few people in half board, you are served a set menu! Soup in which a few vegetables and pieces of fish float...then meatballs with mash...canteen of yesteryear...and a little piece of honey cake, this one was pretty good...but that's not much! Many people eat a la carte, which is probably better. Bus stop for Prakia 50 meters from the hotel, very easy, 35 minutes to go, 1€60 per ticket. Pretty little port and restaurants 10 minutes walk along the beach but difficult in the evening because there is no lighting on the path or on the road side! Staff not really welcoming... Galatis could have had 3 stars if the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities was impeccable and the half board was correct. Mixed opinion therefore.
