Megali Luxuries Apartments in Sidari

We were family of 4 to stay at this property. Cleaners were super nice. Apart from them, everything was below average. Self catering apartment without dishwasher, oven. kitchen was empty minimum cutlery, 2 wine glasses of different size.

Our stay at megali luxury truley spoilt our much anticipated family holiday that we worked towards all year, Upon arrival we read a sign on the fridge informing us their was a €8 daily charge for the air con which was not mentioned prior to booking, we decided to pay for it, offered to pay on the day for this the cleaner lady refused my offer and said we would settle it another day, she then knocked our door early in the morning for payment, explained we didn’t have the cash at the moment and that she would have to wait for it as we had an excursion booked for the day and would need to pull cash out unless she would take care or bank transfer which she refused and said cash only, she wasn’t very happy about this and made us feel very uncomfortable, she would repeatedly knock even peeping in the windows to check we where in, again I offered to pay on the day of which she refused, Filthy looks from the owner and the cleaner every time we would see them we would say hello just to be ignored by the rude pair. We got the impression they did not want children at these apartments, our 10 year old girl is very quiet and very well behaved no bother at all she was not made to feel very welcome at all, The owner and cleaner would talk to all other guests very friendly and clearly just had a problem with us being a young family, if they don’t want children or young families they should have this clear on the websites they advertise on. (Love holidays) The apartment itself had some very bad points the major 1 being the bathroom door not shutting and the handle hanging off which was a problem with it being a family of 3, the tv didn’t receive any signal which was annoying as it was advertised and a shame when we had bad weather and nothing to do, in Greece you can’t flush toilet roll down the toilet which was a problem when it took the cleaner 4 days to empty the bathroom bin…. Extremely unhygienic. Definitely the worst place iv ever stayed and I would never return to the area due tho this experience, if you have children I wouldn’t bother booking, please look anywhere else to save the heartbreak of a spoilt family holiday.

I stayed at Megali Luxuries on 29/09/2024 until 04/1O/2024. First off I was not contacted at all by the hotel, I made contact and asked the situation witn the keys being collected to get a reply; “keys will be in door” with no further explanation. First strange moment as I was landing 2 am and what’s to stop someone entering room? Anyway chalked it down to them trusting nobody will or possibly onsite security? I woke up 5 hours after my arrival to a red haired lady and man walking right into my apartment on the first day, great wake up call off 4-5 hours of sleep, I asked them to leave and they apologised but also told me I need to pay €7,50 to them and 8€ if I want air con PER DAY! Annoying as I’d just arrived (it was Greek tax) that’s fine no problem. My family were staying in another room (room5) just a stone throw away, went to visit them and got told their tv doesn’t work, bathroom in awful condition with a door that doesn’t close between 3 of them, went back to check my room to zero shock, TV doesn’t work. That’s fine, I probably will enjoy the break I said to myself. I went to to and take the first dip in the pool, turns out to be freezing cold, (I assume it’s a nice feature in 30+ degrees) and saw there is ample seaweed at the bottom of the pool! Fast forward, day 3, red hair lady and man return, they clean the room whilst I’m out the hotel for 10’hours, I return and they’ve left my FRONT DOOR UNLOCKED AND BALCONY DOORS OPEN!! this is a major issue as in my room are my PASSPORT, CAR KEYS, HOUSE KEYS, SHUTTLE TICKETS and the rest of my belongings!!!! This was so dangerous and clumsy by the hotel I honestly could not believe it. Again I did not cause a fuss for one second. The Greek tax was a note saying to pay end of stay, although every day I was there this red haired lady who I assume is the owner and cleaner would stare at me giving me dirty looks for this €7.50, even knocking my door to wake me up and ask when I’ll have it like some sort of bayliff. Going to extremes that myself and my family member (who is 10’YEARS OF AGE) caught her staring and peeping through windows at us whilst we were in our apartments. We thought there might be an issue they have with us being a young family (23,26,28,10 yrs) this was even more so when we heard the owners and red hair lady slagging us off and calling me “the boy” all week through our very thin walls; a total lack of respect for no reason whatsoever Another issue was zero toilet roll provided, aircon charge is ridiculous i can live without it luckily, had zero new bed sheets, rude staff, my belongings left out and at hand for anyone to rob. I could go on forever about how totally rude these guys were, but I won’t bother. I do hate going online and doing this but I would not do it if I didn’t feel morally obliged to stop someone potentially having the same experience. I could understand a possible hostile situation if we were partying or going out drinking causing a scene, however we are a
