Anthousa Hotel in Kamarai

Small hotel next to bakery/confectionary shop, literally at cross road of the village. So "A" for location as bus stops literally in front or across the street. Also entrance to the "Steno" walking path lined with shops and restaurants (although it was already all closed by early Oct). Due to off season, staffing was short and the one poor gentleman running the place was there all day manning both hotel check in/out plus the restaurant....not easy Room was spacious with good storage space. Bathroom like other Greek hotel is small and shower is even smaller. There is no way for an average size person to move around witouth hitting either the wall, the water tab (and thus accidentally scalding yourself). Also mine had a window that opens right to the main hallway for everyone else to walk by...so make sure you close it before getting in (open needed to vent the humidity). Also beware many rooms are upstairs with no elevator, so you are on your own for luggage up and down the stairs.

This is a great family hotel in the center of Appollonia. It is on a busy corner (the road to Kamares meets the Road to Artemonas) though the location really can't be beat. If you have a front facing room you may encounter street noise - but the back facing rooms such as 9, 11, and 12 are super quiet. Those three rooms have nice views over the backside to Profitis Elias. There is a mostly private but sort of partitioned outdoor porch space which really adds great space to your room. We were in 11, and found this to be really good outdoor space. Everything is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The hotel has a sweets shop downstairs, a lovely courtyard, a cafe, and is right at the base of the STENO - the main cobbled walking street of shops and restaurants. Yes you are on the top of the island but there are still places that head UP - namely Artemonas and the Steno itself climbs a bit towards Katavati - where the grocery store is. For hikers you can get most Sifnos Trails from here. There is a great bakery 100 yards away - there are restaurants everywhere. I loved this hotel and would stay here again.

Super convenient location at Apollonia, there is a big free public car park close by, just have to wheel your own bags up the hill or up stairs (LOL it’s Greece). Room is clean and neat, but small and minimal.

One note is that the hot water heater needs to be manually turned on at the circuit board, wait a while, then switched off before you can take a shower. It’s a bit troublesome and I didn’t even know about it until I went down to reception to say I don’t have hot water. They also don’t have a room phone that’s why I need to go down to get help. But staff was helpful.

Have been many times to Sifnos and most of them stayed at Anthousa Hotel. Perfect hotel, perfect location, clean rooms, polite stuff. The owner is always there to give you any info you need and take care of your demands. I would recommend it for sure and of course I will visit again .

Anthoussa is literally placed at sifnos' crossroads and handy to everything. Thankfully, same wonderful staff, all around: reception, restaurant, confectionery, housekeeping. Step out to the Steno central path in Apollonia, on to a bus (anywhere on the isle) grocery, retaurants, bars, shops, paths to Artemonis, Kastro etc. Returned to the seaview room with balcony facing Kastro and Paros in the hazy distance. Breakfasts were varied, ample and finished with 'treats' from the 'shop'.

This is a cute hotel in a great location. The bus stop is in front of the hotel. If you go out the back door, you are on the street with all of the best restaurants, bars and shopping. The front of the hotel is a bakery with multiple delicious treats, wine, candy, ice cream, etc…The people who run the hotel are very kind and friendly.

We had a wonderful experience here. The lady managing it who also manages the café below is so sweet and made our stay even better by being so accommodating and generous. We are very grateful and look forward to spending future nights in this hotel in the magical island of Sifnos!

Convenient location and nice family however this was one of the nights I could not sleep due to all the families speaking loudly outside all night long, despite using ear plugs. The pastry shop is super cute and they have Greek mountain tea and herbs. Pastries including baklava are not that good. Mattress on the floor was not comfortable but it was clean! Bus stop outside goes to beaches. Bus stop behind the hotel in the square goes to Kamares the port.

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! The rooms were clean, we had a balcony with a fantastic view out to the sea, the food was great, everyone was so friendly and the bakery .... omg!! The cakes and biscuits and everything is amazing!! We would definitely recommend this place. The bus stop to all the beaches on the island is right outside the front door. The closest beach is about 3km away.

Terrific location, directly accessing the walk path of the city. Super clean rooms and wonderful breakfast. The people provided terrific service always with a smile. They have their own bakery on the main floor with an incredible selection of magnificent cookies and deserts!!!!!

We had an amazing time for 5 nights at the hotel. Niki, her family and the crew made us feel at home and very welcome. very nice and generous hosts! The rooms were beautiful, very clean and great balcony with views. The food at the hotel cafe was super delicious, and the pastries they make were beyond amazing! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
