Aphrodite Hotel Syros in Kinion

We rented one apartment for 1 week. The location is perfect (no sea view as advertised but literally some meters away from the beach) but the cleaning and noise made for a rather unpleasant stay. The apartment is definitely overpriced and not well maintained. There were many unnecessary back and forth with the landlord on cleaning, water shortage. As we discovered the location offers much better options. Not recommended unless heavily discounted.

You close another room and they take you to another...
They made us pay for the room we arrived with without having seen it, after we saw it and realized it wasn't ours they told us that the room we had booked (for which we had paid an advance to reserve it 1 month before ) has been given elsewhere and how they could transfer us after two days to a room which would look very similar to the one we had seen in the pictures.
However, we had booked to stay for 5 days and spent 2 of them in a room inferior to what we had paid for, without of course being compensated for all the inconvenience.
In general they had a very bad organization, the reception after 1 in the afternoon you can't find it anywhere in case you need something.

The owner of the structure left the hotel unattended at 7pm and returned the next morning (assistance in booking taxis and restaurants was provided by the manager of the beach where we went).
Lack of hygiene in the preparation of breakfast made by the staff with bare hands after cleaning the room.
Absolute lack of professionalism and availability of the owner even to the most banal my request to have wholemeal rusks that I could directly buy at the supermarket. Promise to change room because it is too small with a high and unsupported bathtub to be disputed on the grounds that it is not very familiar with the Italian language.
Departing from Rome to Athens then transfer of about 1 hour to get to Piraeus and take a ferry of about 4 hours to Syros and finding such a low standard hotel has ruined a 12-day vacation for 11 people.
I do not understand the reviews made, they seem to me to be nothing short of imaginative

I put one star for the friendly service and one star for the effort made by some at the hotel to take care of the customers. The hotel has many problems of poor management, therefore also maintenance. They can be solved with continuous effort. I hope so because it's a shame...
