Hotels in Hofsos

The room and facility was fine, but this small town has very little to offer. We chose Hofsos because of the Sundlaug pool and hot baths, but they were mostly closed for maintenance.

Town is quite during winter, but location is perfect. Kitchen well equipped, and the staff is responsive and helpful in checkin.

Booked last minute and check in was easy once we got in touch with the host. Room was a bit small but we were only there for a night so not an issue. The kitchen has a fridge, Microwave, kettle, plates and mugs etc, which was handy. There’s a shop across the road and it was pretty well stocked.

Kolkuós is a great guest house! We would highly recommend it. And of course the history and story of saving the historical buildings only adds to the allure. Vaulgier, the owner, is a wonderful host. He takes time to enjoy the company of his guests, after he prepares a great breakfast! It is a remote, but stunning location, and his future plans for a spa will be a stellar addition! We will hopefully return.

We had some trepidation after booking this because of the limited information online and remote location. What a pleasant surprise. Comparable to a New England B&B, the guesthouse is clean, well maintained, and well appointed. The pictures online don’t do it justice. It is the way best place to stay and drink and the outside area is the best of the best in sauðárkrókur! I would recommend without a doubt!! And the people that run the bar are super nice! Outdooor area is well protected by the wind and is superb.

Friendly and warm service, cozy rooms and very-well located. The next door bar was also charming and had a good selection of local beers. This is an excellent choice for a base of command while exploring everything this area of northern Iceland has to offer.

Loved the natural hot springs spa which was open till late and then again before breakfast.

We booked two rooms, one of which turned out to be a loft. Both were incredibly small. Not only was the loft room easy to bump your head on, but the bathroom sink was incredibly small and unusable, and the toilet flushed with a puff of water that was completely ineffective. For nearly 2,000 yuan a night, the room wasn't even as good as a 200 yuan room in China. I've never stayed in a hotel this bad...

A small country home style hotel. I enjoyed my stay there thanks to friendly staffs. The hotel has a small hot spring next to the reception. It is notable that the in-room shower is using hot spring water, which I liked.

Property was probably dorm rooms. It wasn’t terrible. We didn’t really have occasion to interact with staff. We stayed one night on our loop around Iceland. The town doesn’t have much by way of restaurants. Keep expectations basic.

The room with a private bathroom was clean and sufficient. Its all a bit sterile as its a student dorm. The breakfast was basic. Easy to park and location was convenient.

A dormitory style accommodation and hotel. Rooms are small, inbuilt desk, Lino floors and an even smaller bathroom. Quiet room once everyone has gone to their rooms. Restaurant is more a canteen and extremely noisy when several groups are there due to all the hard surfaces. Staff were genuine and helpful.

Very clean accommodation. 2 shared toilets/bathrooms that were big and clean. The kitchen is equipped with toaster and oven and a good variety of food for meals. Unfortunately, wifi did not work on the day we checked in. Staff took a while to come over to inspect the problem but could not resolve it.

I love the decor and the "spa" like feel of the room and bathroom. Very clean, easy to find, quiet location. We loved staying at this property! The quietness was lovely. The fridge was stocked for breakfast which was appreciated and the hot tub was wonderful after many days of hikes. The only small issue was trying to contact the property. I was not able to use my phone to call and the property does not respond to messages, but a wonderful place to stay and would highly recommend!

Hotel itself is a robust, dull building. The less expensive rooms (top floor) are small, have shared toilet/bathroom and can be quite hot. Beds were good though, we slept very well. The Maroccan restaurant downstairs is very popular and provides a nice change to the Icelandic kitchen.

Very nice rooms and stylish decor. Only downside is the parking lot is very muddy and should be paved so you don’t have to pull your bags through muck. Breakfast should be included like most other hotels.

Lovely hotel on the Ring Road, which was extremely convenient. Room was spacious with a view of mountain in back and neighbor’s house (and greenhouse!). A shop with hand-made items is adjacent by a gas station, which was a fun stop. Breakfast had more options than most others that we experienced, and the elevator was also very convenient.

The rooms are a bit tired. That said, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was adequate, and the staff was friendly. Basic accommodations but for one night it was no problem.

We enjoyed our one night stay in June. Yes the place looks a bit older, but we were very happy and comfortable. Staff was excellent and friendly. Breakfast was good. I wish we would have eaten dinner there. It looked and smelled so good. (we ate at the local convenience store). Nice town, wonderful people, I'd stay there again

The location was very convenient and the room was comfortable. The only reason I gave one star off for comfort is because our room was directly above the entry door and people hung out below, and it was a little loud at times other than that it was a wonderful experience with delicious food at the restaurant. I would stay here again.

This is my 2nd time in Iceland and my second stay at these cottages. The location is ideal between the west and the north. The cottages are very nicely appointed and spacious. Was lucky enough to see the Northern lights here 2x now. Horseback riding is offered which I also did and was quite nice, horses are well behaved. Having stayed here twice now I cannot hesitate to recommend these charming...

Nice bungalows at the in northern Iceland. Functional design and clean. Good for 4 people otherwise it is very tiny. The view and outdoor hottub are perfect to relax.

A friend and I stayed here so we could attend a festival in Siglufjörður and during our stay we had to complete some remote work as well. This is a unique property. The full kitchen is available for travelers to use to cook their dinner. If we had known, we would have brought some food to cook.
