Because of a sudden winter storm I had to take a detour here and spend two nights instead of in my camper car. First I was surprised how affordable the rooms were. And then how comfortable, clean and spacious they were. I enjoyed my stay a lot and the staff was very nice and helpfull.

The breakfast was filling and delicious. There was everything one would hope. Dinner at the hotels restaurant was also very good, although the portion sizes were a little big for me. But I did not go to bed hungry!

The hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, but it is a great stop if you are travelling through the area! I did go see some nice nature that wasn't too long drive away. The storm made exploring the area difficult. But otherwise really enjoyed my time here.

The room was very small, only had a few items for coffee and tea, very expensive, no breakfast included, only a kettle and mini fridge in the room. No one at the desk during checkout. The location is great and we were able to see the northern lights.

My favorite hotel in Iceland. The room price can be high in certain days. But for most of time it's in reasonable price. It is he perfect place to see northern light as it sits in the middle of nowhere. That is being said, the restaurant in the hotel might be the only option you have. The breakfast here is also good, but I believe they charge extra on that. Staffs here are friendly and the environment is good. Every room has its own balcony so you can just walk out and see the northern light or sunrise/sunset. One other thing I really like about this place, if you book 2 rooms for your party, they normally assign you 2 rooms on the both side of the hallway so you can see the northern light even if it's only on one side of the sky without walk around the whole building.

Fosshotel Nupar is a stunning premium property that perfectly blends modern design with the rugged Icelandic landscape. The rooms are impressively spacious—especially by local standards—and feature private patios that offer a front-row seat to the surrounding scenery.
The dining experience was equally exceptional. Every dish at the restaurant was thoughtfully prepared and flavorful, but the desserts were the true standout—absolutely delicious! Between the high-quality construction of the hotel and the peaceful atmosphere, it’s a fantastic choice for anyone exploring the south coast. A highly recommended, comfortable retreat for travelers seeking quality and style.

Perfect location, where you can see the aurora all around the mountains.
The room temperature is perfect and you can adjust it besides the window .
They have a perfect balcony, which you can go straight outside and put your tripod on the grass and take pictures freely.
There is no light influence at night so I can directly see the dark sky

Beautiful, big, clean. Location was also quiet.
Breakfast was really good.
Restaurant for dinner is also really delicious.
Staff was very friendly. They did something really nice for our honeymoon.

+ Dinner was nice, breakfast even better! A very generous and wide assortment of eggs, bacon, pastries, breads, yogurts and even tiny falafel patties. Great room, very clean and comfy with convenient storage. Very clean without smelling of cleansers, which is a nice change from many places.

The hotel looks like a bunch of containers, boxy just like the surroundings but it is really nice and comfortable. Their food is pretty good too. Try the Arctic char.

Good location and decent breakfast but nothing more than that. Shocking that this is a 3-star hotel! The rooms are small and dirty. The bathrooms smell like old urine. Just disgusting! The showers are dirty and do not have enough room to even turn around while showering. Running a shower causes flooding of the bathroom. Beds are uncomfortable. The window shades are poorly fitted and let all the light in which makes it very hard to sleep during the summer nights. The hotel has a very bad noise insulation and we could hear our neighbors until they finally went to bed. The room got very hot at night despite the temperature being set at 20 C. By far the worst hotel we have stayed at in Iceland (out of 4 we stayed at)! Do not recommend!

I was a bit skeptical stopping at this hotel in the middle of nowhere on a gravel road, but this hotel was wonderful!! Food was very tasty, staff were very welcoming and friendly, and rooms were spacious and clean. Each room has a deck for aurora viewing (which we saw both nights). Probably one of my favorite places we stayed.
